The application window for Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) Advertisement Notification No. 02 of 2024 has closed. The notice advertised 669 Sub-Inspector posts in the J&K Police Home Department, with online applications accepted from 3 December 2024 through 2 January 2025.

What the 2024 JKSSB SI notice covered

JKSSB’s Advertisement Notification No. 02 of 2024, dated 22 November 2024, covered recruitment to 669 Sub-Inspector posts in the J&K Police Home Department. The figure of 669 posts is stated in the advertisement.

Despite headlines that said applications “begin today,” this is a historical recruitment cycle, not an open application opportunity. The application instructions set an online application period from 3 December 2024 at 12:00 a.m. through 2 January 2025 at 11:59 p.m., including the fee-payment window. Applicants were required to apply through the JKSSB website.

Eligibility and domicile requirement

The application instructions required candidates to hold a valid domicile certificate for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The advertisement and its annexures contain the detailed eligibility terms. The available information here does not establish every age limit, educational qualification, category rule, or physical standard, so candidates should check the original Notification No. 02 of 2024 and its annexures rather than rely on unverified summaries.

Selection process and syllabus

JKSSB’s general recruitment FAQ describes a process that includes advertising reported vacancies, conducting an examination, and finalizing a selection list under the applicable criteria. A syllabus document dated 26 December 2024 identifies the written-examination syllabus for this recruitment. The exact stages, standards, and weight assigned to each stage should be checked in the notification, annexures, syllabus, and any subsequent official notices.

For preparation for a later recruitment cycle, use that cycle’s own notification and syllabus. Do not assume that the 2024 criteria or syllabus will carry over unchanged.

What is known about the recruitment’s later status

JKSSB’s updates listing includes a notice titled “Notice regarding ‘Pending Payment’” for the Sub-Inspector, J&K Police, Home Department recruitment under Notification No. 02 of 2024. The listing alone does not establish the notice date, which applicants it concerned, or what happened afterwards. It also does not confirm an exam date, shortlist, or selection outcome.
