JKSSB released provisional answer keys in November 2023 for the Junior Environmental Engineer examination and the Matric Level posts examination. The Matric Level key covered booklet series A, B, C and D, but the objection window has closed, and JKSSB’s archive later listed a final key for those posts. Use the Board’s archive to find the relevant notice rather than treating an old provisional key as final.
Which JKSSB answer key was released?
The headline’s “JEE” refers to the Junior Environmental Engineer examination, not the Joint Entrance Examination. These were two separate JKSSB notices for examinations held on 5 November 2023; a key for one examination does not apply to the other.
| Examination or posts | Exam date | Notice stage |
|---|---|---|
| Junior Environmental Engineer | 5 November 2023; official JKSSB archive | Provisional answer-key notice; Scroll.in also reported its release on 6 November 2023 |
| Matric Level posts | 5 November 2023; JKSSB notice | Provisional key for booklet series A, B, C and D; the archive later listed a final answer-key notice |
For Matric Level, check the booklet series printed on your question paper when consulting a key. The official archive is the best starting point for the notices: JKSSB official website. JKSSB says it publishes answer keys and examination notices there. The available announcement information does not establish a working direct-download URL for both original files, so use the archive rather than relying on an unverified direct link.
How to find the relevant notice
- Open the JKSSB official website and go to its notice or archive listings.
- Look for the notice matching your examination: Junior Environmental Engineer or Matric Level posts. Confirm the examination date and whether the notice is provisional or final.
- For the Matric Level key, match the answer key to booklet series A, B, C or D. Do not use a key for a different series or the Junior Environmental Engineer exam.
- For Matric Level, check the archive for the later final answer-key notice as well as the original provisional notice.
Can candidates still challenge the 2023 Matric Level key?
No. The objection period was three working days starting 6 November 2023, during office hours, and has long since passed. JKSSB’s notice required candidates to submit objections offline at either its CPO Chowk, Panjtirthi, Jammu office or its Zamzam Building, Rambagh, Srinagar office. Each challenge required the prescribed form, documentary proof and a ₹200 fee per question. The notice said the fee would be refunded if the objection was found genuine and correct.

The notice, dated 5 November 2023, was signed by Abdul Baseer Ahmad (JKAS), Deputy Controller of Examinations. It said that if an objection was found correct, the answer key would be revised for all candidates. That describes the Board’s stated procedure; it does not establish that any particular objection was accepted.
