The final application deadline was first set for 26 July 2024, then the agency reopened applications in February 2025, with final submission due 10 February 2025. The 2024 exam cycle is over; anyone applying for a later cycle should use the notice and portal identified by that cycle’s official announcement, not assume the old jujkset.in instructions still apply.
What were the JKSET 2024 application deadlines?
The J&K State Eligibility Test Agency at the University of Jammu extended the original application schedule in a notice dated 4 July 2024. It set 20 July 2024 as the last date to pay the fee without a late fee, 25 July as the final late-fee transaction date, and 26 July as the final date to submit the application. A correction window was scheduled for 29–31 July. The notice said there would be no further extension for that application period. See the agency’s JKSET/LASET site.
That was not the last opportunity to apply for the cycle. A later agency notice, dated 27 January 2025, reopened the online portal from 3 February. It set 9 February as the last date for a late-fee transaction and 10 February 2025 as the final application-submission date. That reopening does not make the 2024 application available now.

The dates above are historical administrative deadlines from the agency’s 2024 extension and 2025 reopening notices. The original notification, dated 5 June 2024, planned the exam for 20 October 2024; the later notice postponed it and scheduled the reopened cycle’s exam for 27 April 2025.

Where should you check the current JKSET/LASET application notice?
The agency lists a separate 2026 cycle, so a prospective applicant should start with the latest notice on the official JKSET/LASET agency site and follow the application destination named in that cycle’s notice. Check the cycle and notice date before relying on any deadline, fee, eligibility rule, or portal link. An old 2024 application page or its instructions are not evidence that applications are open for a current cycle.
For any new-cycle application, use that cycle’s official notice and information bulletin for eligibility and fee details. The available 2024 materials do not establish the full category-by-category eligibility and fee tables for a new cycle.

What did the 2024 application process require?
For the historical 2024 application, candidates applied online through jujkset.in, selected the relevant Union Territory and category, paid online, and kept the fee receipt and transaction reference. The instructions required a recent passport photograph and signature image in JPG/JPEG format, each no larger than 50 KB. These are 2024 instructions only; do not assume the current cycle uses the same portal steps or upload specifications.
What was the JKSET/LASET-2024 exam format?
The agency’s 2024 information bulletin describes two offline objective papers. Paper I was common to candidates and contained 50 compulsory questions on general teaching and research aptitude. Paper II contained 100 compulsory questions in the subject selected by the candidate. Each correct answer earned two marks; unanswered questions earned no marks, and wrong answers were not penalized. The original notification listed 41 subjects and examination centres at Jammu, Srinagar, and Leh.

The agency site provides the 2024 information bulletin and subject syllabus files, while the current JKSET/LASET portal links previous papers. Use the bulletin and syllabus for the relevant cycle when preparing, since material or instructions associated with 2024 may not reflect later-cycle changes.
