The High Court of Jharkhand advertised 249 Civil Court vacancies in 2024 across three roles. The application window ran from March 1 to March 31, 2024, and is closed; the High Court’s recruitment page has since listed later selection stages and a final result. This is a historical notice, not an invitation to apply now.

Which posts were advertised, and how many vacancies?

The High Court of Jharkhand invited applications for direct recruitment to Civil Courts in the state. Its official notice named three roles: Typist/Copyist, Court Reader-cum-Deposition Writer, and Deposition Typist. The role-wise vacancy figures below were reported by Scroll in 2024; the High Court’s accessible recruitment listing confirms the role names but does not show the numerical breakdown in its page text.

Role Reported vacancies
Typist/Copyist (Civil Court) 17 (Scroll, 2024)
Court Reader-cum-Deposition Writer 14 (Scroll, 2024)
Deposition Typist 218 (Scroll, 2024)
Total 249 (Scroll, 2024)

The official notice described the recruitment as being for the Civil Courts of the State of Jharkhand. The accessible official listing corroborates the three categories; the figures are attributed to Scroll’s March 1, 2024 report.

What eligibility criteria and fees were reported?

Scroll’s March 1, 2024 report said candidates for each category needed a degree from a recognized university, English typing speed of 40 words per minute, and Hindi typing speed of 30 words per minute. It also reported an age range of 21–35 years as of January 1, 2024, with upper-age relaxation for reserved categories.

The same report listed an application fee of ₹500 for Unreserved, EWS, BC-I and BC-II candidates, and ₹125 for SC/ST candidates. These are details reported at the time, not a substitute for the official detailed advertisement’s exact wording, category rules or exceptions. The High Court notice and recruitment listings are available on the official recruitment page.

When did applications close, and what happened next?

The official notice set the online application period as March 1 through March 31, 2024. The Registrar General’s notice invited eligible candidates to apply for the three Civil Court roles; that period has ended.

A later official notice scheduled the typing skill test from August 22 through September 3, 2024, with admit cards available from August 12. The High Court recruitment page subsequently listed shortlisted-candidate and call-letter notices as well as a final result. Those dates are historical and do not indicate a current test or application opportunity. See the High Court’s recruitment listings for the process notices and result.
