That latest account relies on unnamed sources; it is not a public statement from Simpson or confirmation in property records.
What happened to Jessica Simpson’s mansion?
The property’s status changed several times, and the asking prices reported along the way are not sale prices.

Was the house sold?
No completed sale is confirmed in the cited reports. A property being removed from a listing service only means it is no longer being marketed there; it does not establish that ownership changed. The $22 million and $17.9 million figures are asking prices, while the $11.5 million figure is the reported 2013 purchase price.
Why did Simpson take it off the market?
The reports do not establish why the listing was removed in November 2025, why it briefly returned in December, or why it was removed again. TMZ’s March 2026 account says Simpson chose to keep the house, but attributes that account to unnamed sources. The available reporting does not verify a reason for each listing change.

Simpson and Johnson confirmed their separation publicly in January 2025. Realtor.com reproduced Simpson’s statement: “Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage.” She added: “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.” The listing chronology does not show that the separation caused a real-estate decision.
In its November 2025 account, Realtor.com also said Simpson had expressed a desire to leave Los Angeles and quoted her telling her sister: “My L.A. house is on the market. I don’t know where I’m going next, but it’s time to go.” That comment reflected the earlier listing period; the later TMZ report describes a change in the reported situation.

What is known about the Hidden Hills property?
Reported specifications vary by account. Realtor.com describes the estate as 13,200 square feet and lists seven bedrooms in its summary; its description of the original listing quotes eight en-suite bedrooms. The December 2025 listing account gives 13,274 square feet, seven bedrooms, and 2.25 acres. The reports do not explain the differences, so those figures should be treated as listing- or outlet-specific rather than as one settled specification.
Realtor.com’s November 2025 account mentions renovations, a recording studio, guest house, study, pool, and outdoor dining spaces. It also quotes the listing’s description of a “private retreat” with “mesmerizing city lights and mountain views that will leave you breathless.” That is promotional listing language, not an independent assessment of the property.
