What happened to Jeanswest in Australia?
On 26 March 2025, Harbour Guidance Pty Ltd—the company behind Jeanswest—entered voluntary administration. The administrators, Pitcher Partners, said the business would close its physical stores. Their announcement covered more than 90 Australian locations and reported more than 600 team members at the time. Those were figures at the announcement, not a confirmed final count of stores that ultimately closed. Pitcher Partners’ announcement set out the initial plan.
ABC News reported that more than 90 stores were set to close and hundreds of jobs were at risk. Administrators expected store stock to go on sale while they considered whether the brand could be restructured around online retail. ABC News reported on the announcement on 26 March 2025.
Is the Jeanswest closing-down sale still on?
The reported closing-down clearance was a 2025 event, not a current offer established by these reports. PerthNow reported on 30 April 2025 that the sale was underway, with at least 40 per cent off selected categories. That dated discount does not establish today’s prices, stock or availability. PerthNow’s report describes the sale at that time.

Pitcher Partners later said an eight-week campaign in April and May 2025 shifted more than $15 million in inventory. Its 26 June announcement said a deed of company arrangement was to be presented to creditors; that announcement described a proposal and its conditions, not by itself a final outcome. Pitcher Partners’ June update reported the campaign result.
How many Jeanswest stores closed?
The initial announcement said more than 90 locations were to close. Later reporting used a figure of 87 stores, but the counts come from different reporting points or definitions and are not reconciled in the available announcements. It is therefore safer to describe the original plan as covering more than 90 locations than to present either figure as the definitive final number closed.

Can you still shop at Jeanswest online?
A Jeanswest-branded online storefront is visible in October 2026 and lists clothing for sale. Its terms identify NEW FASHION PTY LTD as the website supporter. The available information does not establish that this storefront is a continuation of Harbour Guidance’s business or that it is connected to the 2025 clearance. The administrator’s March 2025 announcement had said the brand and online store might continue, but that possibility alone does not verify corporate continuity.
Before placing an order, check the seller’s legal identity, the specific items and prices currently offered, delivery coverage and costs, and the returns and refund terms. Do not assume that the storefront is selling leftover clearance stock or that the 2025 sale terms still apply. Why did the stores shut?
Pitcher Partners partner and administrator Lindsay Bainbridge attributed the decision to trading conditions. In the administrators’ 26 March 2025 announcement, Bainbridge said: “The owners have done everything they can to keep Jeanswest going, but market conditions mean sustaining bricks-and-mortar stores is not viable and unlikely to improve.” This is the administrator’s explanation for the closure decision, not an independently tested analysis of the company’s finances or the causes of its administration.
