Public estimates of Jay Stansfield’s Birmingham City pay range from £12,500 to £30,000 a week, but none of the figures reviewed is a club-confirmed wage. A third tracker puts him at £25,000 a week. The numbers cover different periods and use different methods, so they cannot establish his exact salary—or settle whether he is underpaid or overpaid.
What do salary trackers estimate Stansfield earns?
The estimates vary by as much as £17,500 a week. Treat them as separate database estimates, not interchangeable reports of a verified contract.

These estimates are not directly comparable: they refer to different seasons or updates, and the sources do not establish a shared basis for fixed pay, bonuses or total compensation. Averaging them would create a precise-looking number that the evidence does not support.
Is Stansfield underpaid or overpaid?
The public evidence cannot answer that conclusively. SalaryLeaks’ 2025–26 estimate ranks Stansfield third in Birmingham’s salary list and first among its forwards, which suggests the tracker considers him one of the club’s top earners. That ranking is still based on estimated wages, not a disclosed payroll figure.

Whether that pay is fair depends on more than a goal tally: a meaningful comparison would need reliable salary figures for players in comparable roles, seasons and leagues, plus a consistent basis for bonuses and other compensation. The reviewed sources do not provide that comparison. On the available evidence, he appears to be a high earner, but there is no verified basis for calling him underpaid or overpaid.
What does his performance tell us?
In Birmingham’s 2024–25 League One title season, Stansfield scored 19 league goals and recorded 24 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions, according to BBC Sport’s 7 May 2025 report. In his earlier Birmingham loan season, he scored 12 goals in 43 appearances. Those figures show substantial production, but League One results do not by themselves establish his value or fair pay in a later Championship season.

Why the £10 million transfer fee is not his wage
Birmingham’s permanent signing of Stansfield from Fulham in summer 2024 was reported at £10 million. BBC Sport described it as the highest fee for a player in third-tier history. That is a transfer fee paid in connection with the move, not evidence of the player’s salary; it cannot confirm any of the weekly estimates above. BBC Sport’s report on the signing also quoted Stansfield discussing how he handled pressure around the move, not disclosing his pay.

Capology and Salary Sport both list a contract expiry date of 30 June 2031. Those listings do not verify the full contract value or bonuses, and the salary estimates remain unconfirmed. The reviewed sources contain no club-issued wage figure or named official or player statement disclosing his salary.
