Jaumur is a planned residential and hospitality community on Saudi Arabia’s Gulf of Aqaba coast, announced by NEOM on May 8, 2024. The proposal centers on a marina and includes homes for more than 6,000 residents, two hotels, and a 1.5-kilometer aerofoil above the largest yacht berths. These are announced plans—not proof that the community or its hotels are operating.
What is Jaumur?
Jaumur is one of 12 destinations announced for Magna, NEOM’s coastal region on the Gulf of Aqaba. NEOM described it as a cosmopolitan marina community combining residences, hospitality, and yachting. The Saudi Press Agency reported that Magna as a whole spans 120 kilometers of coastline; that regional figure is not Jaumur’s individual coastline length. What did NEOM announce for Jaumur?
NEOM’s May 8, 2024 announcement set out the following proposed scale and features:
- More than 6,000 planned residents.
- 500 planned marina apartments and nearly 700 planned luxury villas.
- Two destination hotels with a combined 350 planned rooms and suites.
- A marina with an announced 1.5-kilometer aerofoil above its largest yacht berths.
The Saudi Press Agency’s coverage additionally described a planned deep-sea research center and an international boarding school. None of these announced facilities should be read as completed or currently available.

Which hotels are planned, and when were they expected to open?
In October 2024, Hyatt announced plans for Park Hyatt Jaumur and Andaz Jaumur Marina. Hyatt specified a 300-berth marina and hotel capacities of 125 rooms at Park Hyatt and 225 at Andaz. Its announcement gave 2027 as the planned opening year for both hotels and said they would participate in World of Hyatt. These details describe Hyatt’s announced plans; they do not confirm that either property has opened or can be booked. See Hyatt’s October 2024 announcement filed with the U.S. Department of Justice.
The dates later reported for Jaumur do not match exactly: Hyatt stated a 2027 opening plan for its hotels, while Knight Frank’s 2025 report listed 2028 as Jaumur’s expected completion year. The sources do not explain whether the dates refer to different phases or scopes, so they should not be treated as a confirmed project schedule. Knight Frank’s 2025 report presents the 2028 date as an industry projection, not confirmed delivery.

How does Jaumur fit into Magna?
Jaumur is one destination within the wider Magna development, rather than a synonym for the whole region. In a June 5, 2024 report, the Saudi Press Agency attributed to Magna regional projections of SAR 2.6 billion in GDP contribution by 2030, 14,500 residents, and more than 300,000 overnight visitors annually. Those projections apply to Magna as a whole; they are not forecasts for Jaumur alone. The agency’s report also describes Magna as comprising 12 destinations along 120 kilometers of Gulf of Aqaba coastline.

The announcements establish what NEOM and Hyatt planned, not Jaumur’s present construction or operating status. The sources reviewed do not verify current construction progress, completion, hotel operation, or booking availability. In particular, Hyatt’s stated 2027 opening plan is a target announced in 2024, not evidence that the hotels are now open.

NEOM Hotel Division Executive Director Chris Newman described the Hyatt collaboration as part of a vision for bespoke luxury experiences; Hyatt executive Javier Aguila said the properties would expand the company’s brand presence in the Kingdom. These are company executives’ promotional descriptions of the planned project, not independent assessments of its delivery or quality. Both statements appear in Hyatt’s announcement.
