PerthNow / Mandurah Times reported on 3 December 2025 that a fundraiser for Mandurah father of two James Halford had raised more than $30,000 after he lost both legs in a motorcycle crash the previous month. The figure reflects the amount reported on that date, not a confirmed current total.
What happened to James Halford?
The 3 December 2025 report by Rachel Fenner said Halford suffered life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle crash in November 2025 and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital. The report did not give the exact crash date or further details about how it happened.
What was the fundraiser for?
Friends and family had started a GoFundMe the week before the article appeared. The money was intended to help with future home modifications and provide financial support for Halford’s family.
The report quoted family member Peter, writing on the fundraiser page, as saying: “Their home will need modifications to support James’s future needs, and they will likely require new furniture and equipment just to make daily life possible.” This describes the family’s anticipated needs; it is not an independently verified equipment plan.
