Jamango announced a $2.5 million pre-seed round in May 2024 to develop a browser-based platform for making and playing user-created games. Elkstone and Delta Partners co-led the funding, which the company said would support platform development and hiring. Jamango’s stated goal at the time was a global launch in Q4 2024; the available reports do not confirm whether that launch happened.

What Jamango is

Jamango describes its product as a browser-native platform where people can build worlds from blocks, add game logic without writing code, and publish or share what they create. Its launch announcement described inviting friends through a link and playing without downloads. These are the company’s descriptions of the product, not independently verified performance claims. Jamango’s website provides its product description.

The idea is to combine creation and play in one browser-based service: users make a game world, add rules or interactions using no-code tools, then share it with others. The May 2024 announcement framed browser access as a way for friends to join without installing software or matching device versions. GamesBeat reported Adam Dalton, Jamango co-founder, saying users could share a link and play together.

Who invested and what the funding was for

Jamango announced a $2.5 million pre-seed round in May 2024. GamesBeat and Delta Partners gave the amount in US dollars; The Irish Times reported the equivalent as €2.3 million. Elkstone and Delta Partners co-led the round, with angel investors Brian Caulfield, Brendan O’Driscoll, and Conor Sheahan also participating. The Irish Times reported the euro figure, while Delta Partners announced its participation.

Delta Partners said its investment came from a fund supported by Bank of Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, Fexco, and family offices. Jamango said the capital would go toward developing the platform and hiring. The announcement did not report a valuation, revenue, user count, or specific operating milestones tied to the round.

What “this year” meant—and what is confirmed

The “this year” in the original 2024 headline referred to 2024. In May of that year, Jamango was testing its platform with creators and targeting a global launch in Q4 2024, according to reporting by GamesBeat and RTÉ. That was a company target, not confirmation of a completed public launch. The sources available here do not establish whether the target was met or whether the platform is currently open to users.

Jamango’s founders were Adam Dalton, Richard Whelan, and Jeremy Klarenbeek, and the company said it was founded in 2021. Funding coverage described the team as having experience on games including FIFA, The Sims, Star Wars Battlefront, and Horizon. Those are background details reported about the team; they do not establish the product’s present availability or success.

Why the announcement matters to readers

This is a startup funding announcement, not a launch confirmation or a recommendation to buy a product. It signals that investors backed development of a browser-based game creation concept and that the company planned to use the money for its platform and team. There are no independent performance, user, or revenue statistics in the cited reporting to show how Jamango compares with established creation tools.

For anyone interested in trying the platform, the practical question is current access. The 2024 launch target alone is not enough to conclude that Jamango launched, is accepting users, or works as described today. Check Jamango’s official site for current availability before relying on those claims.
