Among the films in the available box-office records, Kung Fu Panda 2 ranks first, with a reported worldwide gross of $664,837,547. That is money collected from theatrical releases—not Jackie Chan’s salary, profit share or personal income. The figures below compare selected films by nominal worldwide gross; they do not establish how much Chan earned from any title.

What the biggest grosses say about Chan’s box-office reach
The Kung Fu Panda films lead this selection
All three listed Kung Fu Panda movies grossed more than $500 million worldwide in The Numbers’ franchise records. Kung Fu Panda 2 is the highest at $664,837,547, followed by the original at $632,203,486 and Kung Fu Panda 3 at $520,189,225. Chan voiced Monkey, so these are examples of his reach as an animation performer, not leading live-action roles.

Rush Hour brought the live-action franchise into the top ranks
Each of the three Rush Hour films in the franchise table earned more than $245 million worldwide. Rush Hour 2 leads the trilogy at $347,425,832. Its reported total comprises $226,164,286 in domestic box office and $121,261,546 internationally, according to The Numbers. Those market totals describe where theatrical revenue was recorded; they do not indicate how much went to the actors or studio.
The Karate Kid sits just above Rush Hour 2
The 2010 Karate Kid, in which Chan played Mr. Han, is reported at $351,774,938 worldwide—slightly more than Rush Hour 2 in the cited records. The close totals make the comparison straightforward, but neither gross can be treated as Chan’s compensation.
How these figures differ from Chan’s earlier Hong Kong milestones
Chan’s career included major local and regional box-office milestones before the worldwide totals in the table. The Hong Kong Film Archive says The Young Master (1980) earned over HK$10 million and broke local box-office records; Police Story (1985) exceeded HK$20 million. The Archive also reports that Rumble in the Bronx grossed over US$30 million during its nationwide U.S. release in 1996. It describes that release as a turning point before Chan entered Hollywood productions, including the Rush Hour series.
These historical figures use different currencies and territories from the later worldwide totals, so they are career milestones rather than comparable entries in the ranking. The Hong Kong Film Archive’s Jackie Chan profile identifies him as an actor, director, executive producer and producer.

Why a box-office gross is not Jackie Chan’s earnings
A theatrical gross is revenue collected at cinemas across a film’s reported releases. It is not the production’s profit, and it is not an actor’s paycheck. The gross alone does not account for cinema and distributor shares, marketing, production costs, or any contractual compensation and participation arrangements.
The cited box-office records do not establish Chan’s salary or profit participation title by title. A 2025 TheStreet profile discusses wealth and compensation estimates, but it notes that his exact salary for Karate Kid: Legends is unknown. Such estimates do not turn a film’s gross into a verified figure for Chan’s personal income.
