The official FAQ answers this question for this specific recruitment.
The upper age limit was 28 years as of May 19, 2025, with relaxations specified under Government of India orders. Applicants needed to check the advertisement for the applicable category conditions.

How selection worked
This recruitment used GATE scores to screen candidates for interview; it was not the same process as an ISRO vacancy filled through a written test. The advertisement said shortlisting would be in a 1:7 ratio and based on GATE score, not GATE marks or rank.
The interview was worth 100 marks, covering technical knowledge, relevant general awareness, presentation and communication, comprehension, and academic achievements. The minimum interview score was 60, or 50 for candidates with benchmark disabilities (PwBD). For the final panel, GATE score and interview marks each carried 50% weight.

Pay stated in the notice
The notice specified appointment at Level 10 with a minimum basic pay of ₹56,100 per month, plus applicable allowances and benefits. This is the pay figure stated in the 2025 advertisement, not a statement of current salary rates.
Application dates, fee and process
Online registration ran from April 29 to May 19, 2025. The application-fee payment deadline was May 21, 2025. Both deadlines have passed.
Rank #4
The non-refundable application fee was ₹250, payable online through Bharatkosh. The notice and FAQ named women candidates, SC/ST candidates, ex-servicemen and persons with benchmark disabilities among the exempt groups. Applications were accepted online only, and applicants were advised to retain their registration number. These details apply to the closed 2025 advertisement; a later notice may set different dates, fees or exemptions.
