Wise supports transfers to eligible personal bank accounts in Pakistan, but its current eligibility lists do not include Pakistan as a place where residents can open a Wise account to hold money or order a Wise card. Receiving a transfer in Pakistani rupees (PKR) is different from using Wise as a Pakistan resident. Wise also says it cannot currently send money from PKR, and its reviewed official pages give no dated announcement or timetable for a broader Pakistan launch.
What “Wise available in Pakistan” means
Wise availability depends on the feature. A transfer sent to a Pakistani bank account, registering as a Pakistan resident, holding a Wise balance and ordering a Wise card are separate questions. Wise’s current country eligibility pages list where residents can hold money or get a card; Pakistan is not included in those lists.
That does not mean a person in Pakistan cannot be the recipient of a Wise transfer. Wise documents transfers into Pakistan for eligible personal bank accounts, with delivery in PKR. The recipient does not need a Wise account for delivery to a local bank account.
Can I receive money through Wise in Pakistan?
Yes, if the transfer and recipient account meet Wise’s requirements. Wise’s PKR guide describes transfers to personal PKR-denominated bank accounts in Pakistan. It excludes Meezan Bank Express and Allied Bank Express accounts, and says it cannot pay out to a business account in Pakistan. The recipient must be a private individual.

The guide asks the sender for the recipient’s full name and IBAN, which it describes as 24 characters beginning with PK. It lists a maximum of 35,000,000 PKR per transfer; this is an operational route limit, not a permanent guarantee, so confirm the current limit in Wise’s live guide before sending. Wise says delivery usually takes place the same day after it receives and converts the money, while conversion can take up to two working days. Actual timing can depend on the transfer.

Can I send money from Pakistan with Wise?
Wise says it cannot currently send money from PKR. Receiving PKR in Pakistan does not mean PKR is supported as a sending currency. If you are in Pakistan and want to send money abroad, check Wise’s current sending options for your actual residence and funding currency; the available destination-transfer route does not establish that a Pakistan resident can use Wise to send from Pakistan.
Can I open a Wise account or hold a balance as a Pakistan resident?
Pakistan does not appear in Wise’s current list of countries where residents can hold money in a Wise account. The list therefore does not establish eligibility for someone resident in Pakistan to open and use an account with a balance. This is a statement about the current published eligibility list, not an announced permanent ban. Check Wise’s country availability information for the latest terms.

Can I order or use a Wise card in Pakistan?
Pakistan is not in Wise’s current list of places where residents can order a card. Card issuance eligibility is separate from whether an existing cardholder can use a card while visiting Pakistan. Wise’s card help page says cards generally work where Visa or Mastercard is accepted, but notes that US-issued personal and business cards cannot be used in Pakistan. Because that page may not reflect every issuer’s current terms, existing cardholders should confirm their card-specific restrictions with Wise before travel. See Wise’s card-use information.
Is Wise coming to Pakistan, and has it announced a launch?
The official pages reviewed provide no dated announcement or launch timetable for full Wise account services for Pakistan residents. Wise says, “We aim to make Wise available everywhere,” but that is a general statement of intent, not a Pakistan-specific promise or schedule. Without a dated announcement, a launch should not be treated as imminent.

How to assess a Wise transfer to Pakistan
If you are comparing a transfer provider, compare the same sender country, amount and funding method. Look at the PKR amount the recipient will receive after fees, the delivery estimate, eligible recipient account types and whether the recipient needs an account with the provider. For account services, compare registration eligibility, balance holding, local account details, card issuance and card use separately. Live quotes matter because fees, exchange rates, supported payment methods and limits can change.
