How many ZK tokens were allocated to the airdrop?
ZKsync’s official token page lists 17.5% of the total ZK supply for the airdrop. Its governance paper states a total supply of 21 billion ZK. Applying that percentage to the stated supply gives an implied allocation of 3.675 billion ZK; this is a calculation from the two published figures, not a separately quoted total.

The governance paper says the airdropped tokens were unlocked immediately after the airdrop. That describes the distribution’s token unlock status; it does not establish anyone’s eligibility, current holdings, present token value, or future returns.
What is ZK used for?
ZKsync’s ZK Token Utility & Governance paper describes ZK as a governance token: each token carries one vote. It also discusses delegation for people who do not hold tokens. Governance participation is separate from airdrop eligibility, and delegation does not reopen the expired claim window.

Did I qualify for the ZK airdrop?
The official sources cited here establish the allocation and that the claim period ended, but they do not provide a complete historic eligibility rubric, wallet-level thresholds, or the exact calendar deadline. Without an official eligibility record for a particular wallet, it is not possible to determine from these sources whether that wallet qualified.
Do not treat activity descriptions on third-party sites, token labels in an explorer, or requests to connect a wallet as proof of eligibility. Check official ZKsync communications for any applicable records or announcements, and never share a seed phrase or private key to investigate a purported claim.

What happened to unclaimed ZK airdrop tokens?
ZKsync’s incident report says a compromised admin account minted the remaining unclaimed airdrop tokens after the claim window expired. The report states: “The compromised admin key was not in control of any other contracts and could not perform any actions besides minting unclaimed tokens from the airdrop after the claim window expired.” This is a description of a post-expiry mint, not evidence of an active individual claim process.

No. ZKsync’s official ecosystem blog archive says ZKsync Lite sunsets on May 4, 2026: block production stops, while funds can be withdrawn through an L1 claim contract. That withdrawal process concerns balances on ZKsync Lite, not eligibility for the ZK token airdrop. The word “claim” in a withdrawal instruction should not be mistaken for a reopened token allocation.
