A Sam’s Club Xbox Series S clearance was reported at $239.31 in October 2025, which Notebookcheck described as 40% off MSRP. That is a historical, member-reported price—not a confirmed offer today. The price context has since changed: Xbox announced new worldwide console pricing effective August 1, 2026, but that announcement does not establish Sam’s Club’s current price or stock.
What was the Sam’s Club Xbox deal?
Notebookcheck reported on October 3, 2025, that U.S. Sam’s Club members had posted about finding an Xbox Series S for $239.31. The outlet characterized the reported clearance price as 40% off MSRP. The report did not establish that every club had the console or the same price, and the offer should be treated as location- and stock-sensitive.
Notebookcheck’s page carries an October 5, 2026 update, but its deal disclaimer warns that prices and availability can change and quantities may be limited. The Sam’s Club gaming category page reviewed October 8, 2026 displayed an ASUS ROG Xbox Ally but no Series S among the products shown. That category snapshot cannot confirm inventory at every club, nor does it prove the console is unavailable everywhere. Read Notebookcheck’s report; check Sam’s Club’s gaming listings.
Is the Xbox Series S still on clearance at Sam’s Club?
There is no evidence here that the $239.31 price is still available. Because the reported price came from member posts rather than a current Sam’s Club offer page, check a live listing or contact your local club before making a trip. Confirm the exact Series S configuration, local price, membership requirements, and whether the item is new or otherwise marked down.

How do the reported deal and official prices compare?
Microsoft’s U.S. pricing document listed the following prices effective October 3, 2025. These are dated list prices, not a guarantee of current Sam’s Club pricing or availability.
| Console | U.S. price effective October 3, 2025 |
|---|---|
| Xbox Series S, 512 GB | $399.99 |
| Xbox Series S, 1 TB | $449.99 |
| Xbox Series X Digital | $599.99 |
| Xbox Series X | $649.99 |
| Xbox Series X, 2 TB Galaxy Black | $799.99 |
The $239.31 report concerned the Series S; it should not be read as a discount on Series X models. Nor should the reported 40% discount be carried forward as a current comparison against later prices. See Microsoft’s U.S. pricing document.

What changed in Xbox pricing in 2026?
On June 25, 2026, Xbox Wire announced worldwide console price changes effective August 1, 2026: prices for 512 GB models would rise by US$100 and prices for 1 TB models by US$150. Xbox also said it would sunset the 2 TB model. This announcement is important context for console pricing, but it is not a Sam’s Club price list and does not show that retailers are clearing Series S stock now.
Xbox attributed the changes to higher component costs. Team Xbox said: “Unfortunately, console storage and memory prices have increased by more than 2.5x and we expect another doubling by the fall of 2027.” That is Xbox’s explanation and forecast, not an independently established market prediction. What to check before buying a discounted console
- Model and storage: Confirm whether the listing is for a Series S 512 GB or 1 TB. Do not assume a Series X price or promotion applies.
- Current, local price: Compare the actual price shown for your club or online account with current listings; the 2025 $239.31 report is not a live quote.
- Stock and condition: Verify that the console is available and whether it is new, previously played, or certified refurbished.
- Membership and return terms: Check the retailer’s current purchase requirements and return policy before relying on a displayed price.
What are the lower-cost alternatives?
In June 2026, Xbox also pointed to several ways to reduce the upfront cost: buy-now-pay-later on eligible Microsoft Store purchases, financing through partners, previously played consoles through participating retailers, and certified refurbished consoles through Microsoft Store. Eligibility, availability, and regional terms vary, so check the provider’s current terms and total cost before choosing a payment plan or used device. These options are not evidence that a particular Sam’s Club clearance is currently available.
