There is no verified evidence that the original viral Walmart “Wirkin” has returned. Reports from 2025 describe the original listing as sold out or removed, while a March 2025 shopping page showed a different, related BESTSPR listing. That does not confirm a restock—or establish what is in stock now.
What was the Walmart Birkin dupe?
“Walmart Birkin” and “Wirkin” were informal names for a low-priced, Birkin-inspired structured handbag sold through Walmart’s website and reportedly in stores. Coverage associated versions with third-party seller or brand names including Kamugo and Bestspr. Descriptions mentioned top handles, front buckles or lock-style hardware, and a flap closure. The bag was not an Hermès Birkin.
Kiplinger identified one version as the “Kamugo Genuine Leather Handbag Purse for Women,” with three styles and four colors—green, orange, blue, and iron gray—and a reported price range of $78–$102. Those are historical listing details, not confirmed current specifications or pricing. Kiplinger’s report also identified the item as a Marketplace product sold by an independent seller, rather than directly by Walmart.

These prices are dated examples from particular shopping reports, not a current price range or market statistic. The listings may differ by seller, timing, and product; the reporting does not establish that they are the same bag.

How to check a Walmart listing before buying
Walmart Marketplace includes products sold by independent sellers as well as products sold directly by Walmart. Marketplace sellers may fulfill orders themselves or use Walmart Fulfillment Services, and return arrangements can vary by listing. If you find a bag advertised as a Wirkin, check the listing itself rather than relying on a search result, viral post, or product nickname.
- Confirm the exact item and seller. Open the product page and check the named seller. Do not assume a similar photo, brand name, or title identifies the original viral listing.
- Read the product specifications. Check the stated material, dimensions, closure, handles or strap, and any other feature that matters to you. Treat material claims as listing claims, not independent verification.
- Review shipping and returns. Check who fulfills the order, delivery terms, and the return policy shown for that item before paying.
- Compare the final price. Use the price on the live product page and account for any delivery costs or other terms displayed there; historical articles cannot confirm today’s price.
The reporting does not provide independent testing of leather quality, construction, or long-term durability for every product described with the Wirkin nickname. Glamour also noted uncertainty around TikTok Shop listings, including the possibility of a “dupe of a dupe.” A listing’s branding or appearance alone is not proof of its materials or provenance.

What to consider if the original listing is unavailable
If you want a similar shape rather than a specific seller’s bag, define the features you care about—such as a structured body, top handle, shoulder strap, closure, or capacity—and compare listings against them. USA Today named the Dasein Women’s Top Handle Satchel on Amazon as a Birkin-inspired alternative. That reference is a starting point, not confirmation of current Amazon stock, seller, materials, or return terms. It should not be confused with the Walmart Wirkin or represented as affiliated with Hermès.
More broadly, the “Wirkin” became a social-media status conversation as well as a shopping item. In Glamour’s January 2025 coverage, marketing professional Kaleigh Durkin said the bag spoke to people wanting something that “exudes status, without the price tag.” Fashion commenter Jenn Celeste described algorithm-driven feeds as making a once-niche status symbol more ubiquitous. Those are interview perspectives, not survey findings or proof of why any individual buyer chose the bag.
