No—the “$100 off for the rest of today” offer refers to a US promotion reported on December 24, 2025, not a confirmed deal today. The report said the sale was scheduled to end at 3 a.m. ET on December 25, 2025. Current prices and availability need to be checked with retailers; that historical offer is not evidence of an October 2026 discount.
What the $100-off headline referred to
A December 24, 2025 report, republished by AIVAnet, described a US holiday promotion on the PlayStation 5 Pro and said it would end at 3 a.m. ET on December 25, 2025. The report named Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy among retailers. Its syndicated versions varied on the precise sale price, so there is no reliable price to carry forward as a current or historical checkout quote. Read the December 24, 2025 report.

What comes with the PS5 Pro
2 TB of storage, no built-in disc drive
Sony’s US PlayStation Direct listing identifies the console as the PlayStation 5 Pro Console with 2 TB of storage. Sony describes it as “an all-digital console with no disc drive.” The listing showed the console out of stock when checked on October 8, 2026, but stock status is volatile. Adding a disc drive costs extra

Sony’s accessories listing showed a starting price of $79 when checked on October 8, 2026; verify the current price and availability before budgeting for it. Check Sony’s Disc Drive information.

Sony promotes PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) as AI-enhanced resolution, along with advanced ray tracing and higher frame rates. Those benefits depend on game support and implementation: Sony associates them with compatible or PS5 Pro-enhanced titles, not every game. A purchase decision should therefore account for the specific games you play and whether they support Pro enhancements, rather than assuming every title will look or run better. See Sony’s PS5 Pro feature information.

How to assess the value before buying
- Compare the current total price across retailers, including tax and any delivery costs; do not use the expired $100-off headline as a current price reference.
- If you own physical games or want to watch discs, include the compatible Disc Drive’s current price in the total.
- Check whether the games you care about are PS5 Pro-enhanced and whether the improvements matter on your display and setup.
- Compare storage and physical-media needs alongside price when weighing the Pro against another console option.
