It covered a three-month digital code and required the checkout code GAMEPASS to reduce the reported $34 price by $5 before tax. The report said the coupon could be used once per customer and the offer ended that day. Engadget’s December 13, 2024 report is historical, not evidence that the code still works.
What the $29 offer included
The reported promotion was for a three-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate digital code sold by Woot. Engadget listed the price as $34, with the checkout code GAMEPASS taking $5 off for a $29 total before tax. The report specified a one-use-per-customer coupon and said the deal ran through the end of December 13, 2024. It did not establish a current seller, price, stock, redemption terms, or expiration for any new offer.
What Game Pass Ultimate includes now
Xbox’s official Game Pass page describes Ultimate as including 500+ games playable on Xbox consoles, PC, and supported devices, new games on day one, EA Play, Fortnite Crew, Ubisoft+ Classics, online console multiplayer, and cloud gaming. The catalog and features vary by region, plan, and platform, and can change over time.
Xbox Wire announced on September 3, 2026, that monthly cloud gaming allowances would change beginning in November 2026: 15 hours for Ultimate, 10 for Premium, and 5 for Essential. The announcement estimated that the change would affect 4% of subscribers. Those are announced future limits as of October 8, 2026—not limits that should be described as already in effect. Check the terms before buying a new promotion
A discounted code or subscription offer may not have the same terms as the 2024 Woot deal. Xbox says promotions can be restricted to new subscribers or select regions, may require a credit card, and can automatically continue at the regular price unless canceled. Recurring billing is on by default. Check the offer’s eligibility, region, redemption instructions, renewal price, and cancellation terms at checkout; the regular renewal price depends on the offer and market.
Xbox’s stated subscription terms include the notice: “Subscription continues automatically.” A past coupon code should not be treated as a current discount unless the seller explicitly confirms it applies to the offer in your cart.
