Spyker announced the C8 Preliator XXV Coupé on 14 August 2026, presenting it at The Quail during Monterey Car Week as the start of a new era for the Dutch marque. The hand-built, limited-run car is claimed by Spyker to make 800 horsepower from a twin-turbo V8 and pair it with a true manual gearbox. These are announcement specifications, not independently tested results.
What Spyker announced
Spyker’s 14 August 2026 release names the car the C8 Preliator XXV Coupé and says chassis 270 was shown at The Quail in Carmel, California. The company said the car would also appear at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on 16 August. Spyker Founder and CEO Victor Muller called the launch “a new era for Spyker” and said the partnership with co-owner Volodymyr Nosov underlines the brand’s long-term ambitions.
Spyker traces its roots to Dutch coachbuilding in 1880, but its modern-era return began when Victor R. Muller presented the C8 Spyder at the British International Motor Show in Birmingham on 17 October 2000. The 2026 announcement is a new chapter for the marque, not its first revival. Spyker’s heritage timeline gives the company’s chronology.
What the C8 Preliator XXV is claimed to deliver
Spyker says the Coupé has a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 800 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque, with a top speed exceeding 217 mph. It also specifies a true manual gearbox. No independent performance test appears in the sources available for this announcement, so the figures should be read as manufacturer claims rather than measured results.

The company describes a redesigned spaceframe engineered in-house and a hand-built aluminum body. Spyker says building one of its cars takes approximately 2,100 hours; that is the company’s general figure, not a verified build-time measurement for each of the 25 announced Coupés.
Design and production
Spyker says production will be limited to 25 individually commissioned cars. Its release emphasizes an analogue cockpit and aviation-inspired details, including NACA air-intake ducts, an exposed gear linkage, and rear lights shaped to evoke fighter-jet afterburners. The company also describes a “butterfly mode” that opens the car’s panels, including the engine bay.

Price and reported early sales
The official Spyker launch release does not give a price or sales tally. RTL Z reported on 14 August 2026 that the car cost €1.5 million and that Muller said 19 of the 25 cars had sold. Those are RTL Z’s launch-day reports, not figures published in Spyker’s release. Autocar’s story on the launch said the price had not been disclosed at its publication time, so the reported amount should not be treated as an uncontested official price list.

Spyker says its next chapter is expected to include development of the D8 Peking-to-Paris SSUV, new client and digital experiences, and ambitions to return to endurance GT3 racing. These are announced plans and ambitions; they do not confirm a completed SUV or a specific race entry.

Nosov described the Coupé as “the first statement of that ambition” and added, “this is only the beginning.” The announcement therefore presents the car both as a limited-run product and as a signal of broader plans for the marque. Whether those plans materialize is not established by the launch announcement.
