Nacon filed for judicial reorganisation in France on February 25, 2026, and the Lille Métropole Commercial Court opened proceedings on March 2. In its latest identified update, dated September 22, Nacon said its observation period had been extended to March 2, 2027, and a court decision on its proposed restructuring plan was expected in Q4 2026. That update does not establish whether the court has since ruled.
What Nacon’s filing means
On February 25, 2026, Nacon said it had filed a declaration of cessation of payments and asked the Lille Métropole Commercial Court to open judicial reorganisation proceedings, known in France as redressement judiciaire. The company said its available assets were insufficient to meet liabilities as they came due. Nacon attributed its liquidity pressure to financial difficulties at majority shareholder Bigben Interactive, after Bigben’s banking pool declined a financing request connected to partial bond repayment. This is Nacon’s account of the circumstances, not an independent finding about responsibility. Nacon’s investor page lists the company’s announcements.
The court opened the proceedings after a hearing on March 2. Nacon said it would continue operating during the observation period. It also said its shares would resume trading on Euronext Paris on March 4. A resumption of trading does not mean the court-supervised insolvency process ended.
Where the restructuring stood in Nacon’s latest identified update
On September 22, 2026, Nacon said a July 1 judgment had extended the observation period through March 2, 2027. The company said it was preparing a reorganisation plan with advisers and court-appointed administrators, and had begun discussions with stakeholders, including financial creditors. Creditors and shareholders were to be asked to vote in classes before a court decision that Nacon said was expected in Q4 2026.

The September announcement describes a proposed plan and timetable, not an approved or completed restructuring. The latest identified official update does not establish whether the anticipated court decision has occurred. Check Nacon’s investor announcements for any later company update; a company announcement is not a substitute for a court decision or independent confirmation that proposed transactions were implemented.
What Nacon proposed for creditors and shareholders
Nacon’s September proposal included a €31 million capital increase intended to bring in new money, with up to €23.5 million described as backstopped, and the conversion or write-off of €39.6 million in intercompany claims. These were proposed measures dependent on adoption of the reorganisation plan.

For approximately €101 million in bank and unsecured claims, Nacon described creditor options. The short option involved final settlement at 30%. For unsecured claims, the long option involved a 50% write-off, with the remaining balance spread over eight years. These are proposed creditor terms, not evidence that creditors accepted them or that payments or write-offs have taken place.
Nacon warned that the proposed transactions could substantially dilute existing shareholders. Bigben Interactive, Nacon’s majority shareholder, entered accelerated safeguard proceedings on August 17, 2026. Nacon said implementation of Bigben’s restructuring was linked to adoption of Nacon’s own plan. Neither the dilution nor the proposed restructuring should be treated as completed based on the September announcement.

What the filing means for Nacon’s studios and employees
In March, Nacon said four subsidiaries had filed for insolvency and requested their own judicial reorganisation proceedings: game studios Spiders, Kylotonn and Cyanide, and motion-capture company Nacon Tech. Those filings do not, on their own, establish that the subsidiaries closed.
Nacon’s September business plan proposed changes across its operations. It listed discontinuing Spiders, Midgar and Nacon Tech during 2026, restructuring plans with headcount reductions at Kylotonn and Cyanide, and a headcount-reduction plan at Nacon SA. These are planned actions in the company’s business plan; the identified announcements do not confirm that each closure or workforce reduction has been completed.

How to read Nacon’s financial figures in context
In its February 25, 2026 release, Nacon reported €167.9 million in IFRS revenue and €1.1 million in operating profit for fiscal year 2024/25. Those are company-reported historical figures, not current-year results. They provide context about the business but do not change what the insolvency filing means or establish whether the proposed plan will succeed.

What is known—and what remains unresolved
- Known: Nacon filed for judicial reorganisation on February 25, 2026, saying it could not meet due liabilities with available assets; the court opened proceedings on March 2.
- Known as of September 22: Nacon said its observation period ran through March 2, 2027, and that it was preparing a plan with a court decision expected in Q4 2026.
- Not established by that update: whether the court has ruled, whether the proposed creditor and capital measures have been approved or implemented, and whether the listed studio or workforce changes have been completed.
