In Vogue, sommelier Jordan Salcito described Meghan Markle’s As Ever rosé as a well-made wine, with ripe strawberry, watermelon, grapefruit, herbal notes and a lingering, slightly bitter finish. That is Salcito’s published assessment—not a firsthand taste test by this writer. The vintage matters, too: the first release was the 2023 Napa Valley Rosé, while the bottle Salcito assessed in August 2025 was the 2024 vintage.
Which As Ever rosé was reviewed?
As Ever announced a Napa Valley rosé for sale on July 1, 2025. The first available bottle was the 2023 vintage, described in the launch announcement as a light, fresh rosé curated by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. The Guardian reported that Fairwinds Estate in Napa Valley manufactured that debut wine. The Guardian’s July 2025 launch report covers those details.
A 2024 vintage followed in August 2025. The tasting discussed here is Salcito’s Vogue assessment of that newer release, not a review of the debut 2023 bottle. Vogue’s account contains a chronology statement that conflicts with July reporting about the 2023 launch, so the clearest distinction is by vintage: 2023 was the debut; Salcito assessed the 2024. The Independent’s August 2025 report identifies the 2024 as following the previous month’s release.
What did Jordan Salcito think of the 2024 vintage?
Salcito, an award-winning sommelier who has overseen wine programs at Eleven Madison Park and Momofuku, described a rosé that was more saturated in color than the very pale style she associates with some celebrity bottles. On the palate, she found ripe strawberry and watermelon, followed by pink grapefruit and grapefruit peel. She also noted river-stone minerality, hibiscus, thyme, oregano and pink peppercorn, with no obvious new-oak flavor.

Her account emphasizes structure as well as fruit: bright, grapefruit-like acidity, no perceptible tannins and a fuller, weightier feel. She described a long finish with slightly bitter grapefruit notes and some heat. Salcito’s verdict in Vogue was that it was “genuinely well-made rosé” that “tastes like a wine first and a celebrity product second.” Those are her impressions, not an independent tasting by this writer. What does the brand say about the wine?
As Ever’s launch copy, quoted by ITV, highlighted soft stone-fruit notes, gentle minerality and a lasting finish. The Guardian also quoted the brand’s description of the 2023 debut as “light” and “fresh.” Those descriptions are promotional language, not independent tasting judgments; Salcito’s Vogue review is the separate published assessment. What should you know about the alcohol figure?
Published coverage conflicts on the 2024 vintage’s alcohol by volume: Vogue’s tasting reports 14.5% ABV, while The Independent reports 13.5%. Without confirmation from the exact bottle’s label or a current official product listing, neither figure should be treated as settled. The discrepancy also means it is unwise to rely on a number quoted for one report when choosing or comparing bottles.
How did Salcito suggest serving it?
Salcito recommended serving the rosé chilled. Her suggested pairings were grilled salmon, pork belly or barbecue, roasted vegetables, and spicy Thai takeout. These are her serving suggestions, rather than a guarantee that every pairing will suit every palate.

Can you still buy it, and what did it cost?
Current availability, pricing and shipping terms are not established by the available reporting. The Independent documented a historical US-focused offer for the 2024 vintage in August 2025: $90 for three bottles, $159 for six (a reported 12% discount), or $300 for twelve (a reported 17% discount). It said orders had a three-bottle minimum and shipping appeared limited to US addresses. Those were reported terms for that 2025 offer, not confirmation of current stock or 2026 prices.
The Guardian also reported launch-era plans for a Méthode Champenoise Napa Valley sparkling wine and additional varietals. Those plans do not establish what As Ever sells today.
