The status page says it covers planned work and updates on outage fixes; because it can change, check it again when you read this.
Lloyds lists app, online banking, branches, cashpoints, debit cards, credit cards and telephone banking separately. Check the specific service you need: an app problem does not by itself establish that cards, cash withdrawals or every online banking function are affected. Branch hours can change at short notice.
Downdetector’s Lloyds page can show whether other people are reporting similar symptoms, but those reports are user submissions, not official confirmation or a diagnosis. When checked for this article, it showed no current problems while also displaying individual reports from August 2026 about app launch, authentication, login, the website and incoming transfers. Those dated reports do not establish a current outage or its cause.

Lloyds app not working: what to try
If the app will not open, freezes or cannot complete login, work through Lloyds’ own troubleshooting steps:
- Close and reopen the app. Fully close it, then launch it again.
- Update your phone’s operating system. Install any available system update.
- Update the Lloyds app. Get the latest version from the official Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Reinstall if needed. Remove and reinstall the app from the official store.
- Check your credentials. If the issue appears to be your password or memorable information, reset those details using Lloyds’ official login route.
These are troubleshooting steps, not proof that the cause is on your device. If the status page reports an issue, or these steps do not help, use another official Lloyds contact route rather than downloading an app or tool suggested by an unsolicited message. Lloyds’ login help has the bank’s current guidance.

Lloyds online banking login or website not working
For browser online banking problems, Lloyds recommends checking the session and browser data:
- Close extra sessions: leave only one online banking session open.
- Clear cache and cookies: try this if pages will not load or display correctly.
- Reset login details: do so through Lloyds if you think the credentials may be wrong.
Use Lloyds’ official website and support channels. Do not give login details to an account claiming to help with an outage, or follow links in unsolicited outage messages. This is general account-safety advice; it is not a claim that a particular scam is connected to the reported problem.

Lloyds transfer pending or failing: avoid an accidental repeat
If a payment instruction appears to fail or its outcome is unclear, do not keep submitting it. Check account activity or contact Lloyds through a verified channel before trying again. This precaution can help avoid duplicating a payment; it does not mean Lloyds has reported duplicate payments linked to an outage.

Availability is not guaranteed for every channel at every moment. Lloyds’ service-status page is the place to check current channel information; its listed alternatives are not a promise that a particular route will be immediately available.

In a decision dated 15 October 2025, the Financial Ombudsman Service considered one customer’s complaint about repeated problems accessing Lloyds’ app. Ombudsman Elspeth Wood wrote, “And, although the app is Mrs M’s preferred method of accessing her account, its availability isn’t guaranteed.” The complaint was not upheld, and the decision records Lloyds’ finding of no technical issue except during February 2025 in that individual case. It is one case, not evidence of a widespread outage, a guarantee that every complaint will fail, or a promise about compensation in another situation. Read decision DRN-5726039.
