Taylor Sheridan has not left Paramount: his television contract runs through the end of 2028. Meanwhile, Landman is already in production on season three, and Paramount calls it the most-watched series in Paramount+ history. That makes the drama a plausible bridge title as Sheridan’s future work shifts elsewhere—not proof that it is officially Paramount’s most important show.
Is Taylor Sheridan leaving Paramount?
Not yet. Paramount’s third-quarter 2025 results state that its television contract with Sheridan concludes at the end of 2028. The Associated Press reported on October 7, 2026, that Sheridan will move to NBCUniversal when that contract runs out. The timing matters: this is a future transition after his existing Paramount obligations, not a completed departure. Paramount’s results exhibit and the Associated Press report establish the end date and reported destination.

Is Landman renewed for season 3?
Yes. Paramount announced on October 1, 2026, that season-three production had begun in Fort Worth, Texas. Its official title listing also identifies Landman as a Paramount+ drama renewed for a third season. The announcement names Sheridan and Christian Wallace as the series’ creators. Paramount’s season-three production announcement confirms the filming update.
Why does Landman stand out for Paramount+?
Audience reach is the clearest documented reason. In its first-quarter 2026 results, Paramount Skydance described Landman as the most-watched series in Paramount+ history. That is the company’s characterization; the cited results do not provide a full comparison dataset or explain the ranking methodology. The results exhibit filed with the SEC supports the attributed claim.

Paramount also reported a sizable launch for season two. In a November 20, 2025 announcement, the company said the season-two premiere drew more than 9.2 million global streaming views in its first two days and called it the most-watched premiere in Paramount+ history at that time. Both the view count and the superlative are Paramount-reported figures, not independently audited measurements. Paramount’s premiere announcement gives the figure and its time period.
Will Landman stay on Paramount+ after Sheridan leaves?
That is not established by the available announcements. They confirm the series’ current Paramount+ home and season-three production, but do not say where it will stream after Sheridan’s contract ends, who will lead it creatively, or how the series’ future arrangements will work. A contract transition does not by itself confirm that an existing show will move platforms—or that it will remain unchanged.

Importance depends on the measure. Paramount’s audience claims make Landman a strong candidate by reach. Its active production during the run-up to Sheridan’s contract end also gives it potential value as a continuity title for the service. But the cited information does not rank Paramount’s series by revenue, profit, subscriber retention, or strategic value, so it cannot establish a definitive company-wide “most important” show.

The defensible conclusion is narrower: Landman is one of Paramount+’s most valuable current series by the audience measure Paramount itself reports, and season three is moving ahead while Sheridan remains under contract. Calling it a bridge into the post-2028 period is a reasonable interpretation; claiming that Sheridan has already exited or that Landman has a confirmed future home or leadership would go beyond what has been announced.
