A Mandurah Times report published 25 September 2024 said fit-out work had started at the former Farmer Jack’s site in Halls Head. Current listings show the store is operating, but the sources do not establish the day it opened.
The report said the Greenfields store was not closing; that was Correia’s statement at the time, not independent confirmation of its present status.

What shoppers can expect
The Mandurah Times described Gilbert & Sons as known for fresh fruit and vegetables and specialty grocery items, and said the Halls Head shop would continue to stock products from local producers. The Halls Head Shopping Village directory currently describes the store as offering fruit and vegetables, a deli with dairy and cheese, and a butcher.
Correia said the new shop would be similar to Greenfields and the same size, with some differences he did not detail in the 2024 report. The report also attributed to him the estimate that about 99 per cent of Gilbert’s products came from within WA. That is an owner-attributed 2024 figure, not an audited or currently verified statistic.
