G2G is a functioning peer-to-peer marketplace, but that does not make every seller, listing, or digital purchase safe. G2G says buyers contract directly with sellers and that its GamerProtect process holds payment and supports disputes; it also says GamerProtect is not a product guarantee. Whether a purchase is a good risk depends on the exact listing, the seller, the game publisher’s rules, and whether you follow G2G’s reporting deadlines.
What G2G is—and what “legit” means here
G2G describes itself as a marketplace for gaming-related digital goods and services. Its terms say that sales are direct contracts between buyers and independent sellers, while G2G facilitates transactions and may help with disputes. That describes G2G’s stated role; it does not independently establish how a particular seller will perform or how a dispute will be resolved. G2G’s GamerProtect explanation and terms and conditions set out that distinction.

G2G’s own article, “Is G2G legit or a scam?”, likewise presents G2G as the marketplace rather than the seller and advises buyers to check seller reputation. It is the company’s account of its service, not independent verification of marketplace safety.
So the practical answer is conditional: G2G provides a marketplace and defined payment and dispute procedures, but a purchase can still involve delivery, quality, account-access, or policy risks. No general success or fraud rate is established by the available evidence.

What GamerProtect does—and what it does not do
G2G describes GamerProtect as an escrow system that holds payment until the buyer confirms receipt. The company explicitly says it is “NOT a product guarantee.” Sellers remain responsible for listing accuracy and item condition; G2G says it may review product-related problems based on evidence submitted. A payment hold and dispute process can help address certain problems, but it is not a promise that the product will be satisfactory or remain usable.
Cases G2G says may qualify
The current buyer-protection page identifies non-delivery and an item that does not match its listing as covered situations. It also lists important exclusions:

- You have already confirmed receipt.
- You have buyer’s remorse.
- The transaction took place off-platform.
- A game publisher changes something after successful delivery.
- You pursue a payment dispute or chargeback.
G2G says buyers are deemed to have accepted the goods or services if they do not submit an issue, claim, or complaint within 72 hours of delivery. Check the order promptly and do not confirm receipt until you have inspected what was delivered.
How the support deadlines fit together
The timelines are not all the same. G2G’s refund guidance says to report through the order page and respond to support requests for evidence within 48 hours. Its escalation instructions say to allow the seller 48 hours to respond before escalating an unresolved issue to G2G, and describe 48-hour appeal or escalation deadlines in specified cases. Follow the deadline shown for your case and product category; the cited refund guidance is the Singapore version, and policies may differ by location.

Why game accounts and items need extra checking
A marketplace sale does not establish that a game publisher allows the transfer or use of an account or item. G2G says it does not represent publishers and that each publisher sets its own account-use and transfer rules; buyers are responsible for checking them. Even if a seller delivers an account successfully, that alone does not show that the publisher permits the transaction or that the buyer will retain access. See G2G’s refund and account guidance and check the relevant publisher’s current rules before paying.
How to assess a specific listing and seller
G2G recommends reviewing seller rankings and feedback from completed orders. Ratings can help distinguish sellers, but they are not guarantees of future performance. Before purchase, compare the details that determine whether the offer actually suits your situation:

- Listing match: Confirm the exact game, product, quantity, server or region, delivery method, and any account-transfer details.
- Seller history: Review rankings and feedback, giving more weight to relevant completed-order information than to a rating alone.
- Delivery terms: Understand how and when delivery is supposed to happen, and what the seller says about the item.
- Publisher rules: Check whether the game’s publisher permits the transfer or transaction.
- Protection and deadlines: Read the applicable policy for your location and product category before ordering, including the reporting and evidence-response windows.
- Evidence and communication: Keep the transaction and messages on G2G, and preserve relevant order and delivery details so you can document a problem.
These checks do not eliminate risk. They help you identify mismatches before purchase and preserve the official order-page process if something goes wrong. G2G’s buyer-protection guidance and escalation instructions explain the platform’s stated reporting route.
