There is no public confirmation that Emirates is planning a third Brazilian destination. The airline’s official destination listing names São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Recent official reporting describes service to those two cities, but does not identify a third city under consideration.

Which Brazilian cities does Emirates currently serve?

Emirates lists São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro as its Brazilian destinations on its official destination page. The airline began service to São Paulo in October 2007 and added Rio de Janeiro in 2012, according to its 2022 account of its Brazil operations.

Emirates’ December 2025 Open Sky magazine said Rio service would increase from five weekly connections to daily with the 2025–26 winter schedule. That is a dated schedule statement, not a guarantee of the current timetable; check Emirates’ booking channels for travel dates before relying on a frequency.

Do Emirates’ Brazilian partners count as additional destinations?

No. Emirates describes connections to six Brazilian cities on Azul-operated flights through its Azul partnership page. These are onward connections on a partner airline, not additional Emirates-operated gateways. Emirates also describes Brazilian connections through São Paulo and Rio on its GOL partnership page.

Do passenger numbers or aviation talks point to a third route?

They show activity and cooperation, but do not establish a plan for another destination. In an August 2026 report, the UAE Embassy in Brasília said Emirates carried more than 414,000 passengers on its São Paulo and Rio routes in 2025, and more than 6 million passengers between Brazil and Dubai since operations began. Those figures describe existing traffic; the Embassy did not announce a third route or name a candidate city. Read the Embassy’s report.

The same report quoted ANAC Director-President Tiago Faierstein discussing UAE aviation and infrastructure cooperation, including Emirates’ regular flights to São Paulo and Rio and dnata’s airport ground-handling operations. The statement does not say that a third Emirates destination was discussed.

Emirates’ Open Sky magazine reported that Brazil–UAE bilateral trade had grown by more than 250% since Emirates began operations in 2007. This is a company-published figure about trade, not independent evidence of airline demand or a route proposal.

What would count as confirmation?

A named city or route announcement from Emirates, or an attributable statement from an aviation authority or other relevant official, would support saying that a third destination is being considered or planned. The public sources cited here do not provide such a statement. They establish the two listed gateways, partner-airline connections, and traffic on existing routes—not private deliberations or a future route decision.
