A September 2025 report said Costco and Sam’s Club sold the standalone LEGO Super Mario Game Boy set for $48.99, compared with $59.99 on LEGO’s US product page when checked for this article. That is an $11 difference between the reported warehouse offer and LEGO’s displayed price—not confirmation that Costco has the set at that price today. Costco’s official US listing retrieved here is for a bundle, not the standalone Game Boy.
What the reported Costco price means
The set is LEGO Super Mario Game Boy, model 72046. The Tech Buzz reported on September 26, 2025, that Costco and Sam’s Club had the standalone set for $48.99 ahead of LEGO’s stated October 1, 2025 release date. Treat that figure as a historical reported warehouse offer, not a current Costco price or a guarantee of stock.
LEGO’s official US product page displayed $59.99 when checked for this article. Comparing those two figures, the reported warehouse offer was $11 lower. The comparison is historical: it pairs a secondary report of a warehouse offer with LEGO’s displayed US price, and does not establish what either retailer charges now.
Why Costco’s current listing is not the same deal
Costco’s official US listing retrieved for this article is a bundle containing Game Boy set 72046 and Mario Kart – Standard Kart set 72032. A bundle price covers both sets; it cannot be used as the price of the standalone Game Boy. The available listing also does not verify current standalone stock or price at a local warehouse.

The September 2025 report does not state whether its offer required membership or included shipping, so those details should not be assumed.
What you get in LEGO Game Boy set 72046
LEGO describes the 421-piece, age-18-and-up set as a near 1:1-scale brick-built model of the original Nintendo Game Boy. It is a display model, not a working handheld. The set includes interchangeable brick-built Game Paks for Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, lenticular screens, and a Nintendo start screen. LEGO’s US holiday 2025 catalog says it has no light, sound, or digital play functions.

How to compare prices fairly
- Match the exact set number, 72046, and distinguish the standalone set from Costco’s bundle with set 72032.
- Compare prices observed at the same time and in the same country; the cited prices here are US figures from different dates and evidence types.
- Check whether a Costco offer is local or online, whether membership is required, and whether shipping or other fees change the total.
- Confirm current availability directly with the retailer. A past reported warehouse offer does not establish today’s shelf price or stock.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
