BUFF Market appears to be a real, identifiable marketplace for CS2 and CS:GO skins, but that does not make every transaction risk-free. Its published terms name NETEASE (HONGKONG) LIMITED as the service provider and describe rules for failed deliveries, reversals, fees, and off-platform trades. Buyers and sellers should still account for payout delays, possible identity checks, payment fees, and the limits of user reviews.
What does “legit” mean for BUFF Market?
There are two separate questions: whether the service has an identifiable operator and published rules, and whether a particular purchase or sale will be safe, prompt, and trouble-free. BUFF Market’s Terms of Use identify NETEASE (HONGKONG) LIMITED as the provider of the services. Its Privacy Policy names the same company as data controller and provides contact information. Those details are meaningful legitimacy signals, but they do not guarantee transaction outcomes or independently establish the company’s ownership structure.
The Google Play listing displays EXPTIONAL PTE. LTD. as the app developer, with a Singapore address and support contact. A developer shown in an app-store listing is not, by itself, proof of the marketplace’s corporate ownership or a guarantee of how a trade will be handled.
There is no evidence in the reviewed sources of formal Valve endorsement or an independent security certification of BUFF Market. Treat it as an identifiable third-party marketplace, not as a Valve-backed or risk-free service.

What happens if a trade fails or an item is reversed?
Seller does not deliver
The Terms of Use say that if a seller does not initiate the trade offer within the required time or otherwise fails to deliver, the order is invalidated and the buyer is refunded to the BUFF Market balance or original payment method, as applicable. The terms describe a process; they do not establish how quickly every refund is completed.
Buyer does not accept or cancels delivery
For specified situations in which the buyer does not accept, cancels delivery, or has a full inventory, the terms say the buyer may owe the seller compensation equal to 2% of the item price. This is a conditional charge described for those circumstances, not a general marketplace commission.

Trade reversal and settlement delay
BUFF Market’s FAQ says seller proceeds may be held for 7–8 days after delivery, depending on when the item’s Steam trade-protection period ends. It also says BUFF Market fully refunds a buyer if a purchased item is reversed, while a buyer who reverses a trade does not receive a refund. Do not assume that a completed delivery means a seller can withdraw proceeds immediately.
What fees and identity checks should you expect?
The Terms of Use do not set one universal fee for every user or transaction. They say transaction service fees are shown when listing and included in or displayed with the price; withdrawal and payment-processing fees appear at the relevant payment or withdrawal step. The operator advises users to check current charges because fee changes apply prospectively. Look at the actual amount shown for your transaction rather than relying on a third-party “standard fee” figure.

What does BUFF Market say about privacy and security?
The Privacy Policy describes collecting Steam account information, contact and device data, purchase information, and cash-out details. It also describes sharing information in defined circumstances and says the service uses technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption. The policy cautions: “Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure.” These are statements by the operator, not the findings of an independent security audit.

How to reduce risk before buying or selling
- Use the exact buff.market domain or the official app listing. Do not enter Steam credentials through links sent by traders or unofficial sites.
- Check the trade offer and item details inside Steam before accepting. Keep payment and settlement on the platform; BUFF Market’s terms prohibit off-platform settlement.
- Review the displayed transaction, deposit, withdrawal, and payment-provider fees before confirming.
- Be prepared for identity verification on some transactions and for cash-out to require real-name and bank details.
- If selling, factor in the stated proceeds hold tied to Steam trade protection. If buying, understand the published reversal and refund terms before paying.
- Keep order records and contact support through official channels if a transaction stalls.
If you are comparing BUFF Market with another marketplace, compare the same item and condition using the total buyer price, the seller’s actual fees, cash-out methods available in your region, payout timing, reversal and refund rules, verification requirements, and current listing availability. The available evidence does not support a claim that BUFF Market is the cheapest option.
