Amazon has not confirmed a tariff-driven shift to selling Haul products from U.S. warehouses. In April 2025, the company said Haul had considered displaying import charges on some products, but the idea “was never approved and is not going to happen.” Amazon’s separate warehousing and customs services are options for marketplace sellers generally—not evidence of a new Haul sourcing policy.
What Amazon said about tariff charges on Haul
On April 29, 2025, Amazon said: “The team that runs our ultra low cost Amazon Haul store considered the idea of listing import charges on certain products. This was never approved and is not going to happen.” Amazon’s statement makes the distinction clear: the company discussed a possible cost display, then rejected it. It did not announce that Haul would move its inventory to U.S. warehouses.

The initial coverage was also narrower than some headlines implied. The Associated Press reported that the discussion concerned Haul, not Amazon’s main storefront, and that Amazon clarified it would not break tariff costs out for customers as a separate charge. The AP account provides contemporaneous context; it does not establish an approved change to Haul’s inventory sourcing.
Are Haul products now coming from U.S. warehouses?
The cited company statements and reporting do not establish a formal policy to prioritize U.S.-warehouse goods on Haul because of tariffs. A product’s warehouse location, where it was made, how it entered the country and which duties apply are separate questions. A U.S. warehouse location alone would not show that an item was made in the United States or that its import duties were avoided.

The Information has reported that Amazon began adding some company-owned inventory, including branded apparel, to Haul. That limited secondary report is not confirmation of a tariff-driven, storewide U.S.-warehouse strategy. Amazon’s later Haul announcement documents expansion, but does not attribute it to domestic sourcing.
What Amazon’s seller warehousing options actually mean
Amazon offers logistics and import-management tools to marketplace sellers. They describe ways sellers may store, import and fulfill inventory; they are not options Haul shoppers can select for an individual order.

Bonded warehouses
Amazon’s seller trade guidance says a bonded warehouse provider can store imported goods in the United States while payment of duties is deferred until the goods are released. Deferral is not duty removal: the applicable charges still depend on the goods and circumstances.
Amazon Warehousing and Distribution and Fulfillment by Amazon
Amazon’s Global Selling guide describes international sellers shipping inventory into Amazon’s U.S. distribution and fulfillment network, including Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD) and Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). Bulk storage, moving inventory onward and fulfilling customer orders are different functions. These general seller services do not demonstrate that Haul has adopted a particular sourcing or fulfillment policy.

For a seller evaluating these services, the practical questions are where inventory is held and who controls it, when duties become payable, how goods move into fulfillment, and what eligibility and costs apply. Amazon’s general pages do not determine a seller’s product-specific customs classification, total costs or eligibility; sellers should check current service terms and seek product-specific customs advice.
What Haul’s later expansion does—and does not—show
In March 2026, Amazon Global Selling China said that within one year of launch, Haul had expanded to 26 countries and regions and included categories such as toys, electronics and beauty. This is a dated company-reported expansion figure, not an independent inventory audit. The announcement describes broader geographic and category reach; it does not say that tariffs caused the expansion or that Haul shifted to U.S.-warehouse sourcing. Why tariff claims need a date and product context
Tariff rules can change, and a rate cannot safely be treated as universal across products or origins. Executive Order 14346, dated September 5, 2025, changed the scope of reciprocal tariffs and established procedures for implementing trade and security agreements. The White House order illustrates why any claim about a particular product’s tariff treatment needs the relevant classification, country of origin, legal authority and effective date.
For Haul shoppers, the sources cited here do not establish a general U.S.-warehouse promise or a storewide tariff surcharge. For sellers, Amazon’s logistics programs may offer ways to manage inventory and import processes, but they do not by themselves determine the duties or total landed cost of a product.
