IREDA Shares: From Rs.310 to Rs.111, and What the CMD Filing Said

IREDA’s reported close of Rs.111 on 1 October 2026 was about 64% below its July 2024 peak. The contemporaneous CMD charge extension is not shown to have caused that longer-term decline.

IREDA closed at Rs.111 on the NSE on 1 October 2026, compared with a reported all-time high of Rs.310 on 15 July 2024. The fall in those two reported prices is about 64%, but the available reporting does not establish that the government’s decision on the company’s top management caused the longer decline. The filing concerned an extension of Director (Finance) Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty’s additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD).

What happened to IREDA’s share price?

A Mint report republished by TradingView News said IREDA shares closed at Rs.111 on the NSE on 1 October 2026. It reported an all-time high of Rs.310 on 15 July 2024. Comparing those two prices, the October 2026 close was about 64% below the July 2024 high. These are dated market snapshots, not live prices. TradingView News’ republication of Mint’s report also said the 1 October close was down 0.61% for the day.

The same report gave a 52-week range of Rs.107.40, recorded on 16 September 2026, to Rs.158.70, recorded on 15 October 2025. Separately, it noted that IREDA debuted on Indian exchanges on 29 November 2023 at an issue price of Rs.32; against that issue price, Rs.111 on 1 October 2026 was 247% higher. A comparison with the issue price uses a different starting point from the drawdown measured from the 2024 peak.

What did the government’s decision and exchange filing say?

IREDA’s investor-disclosures index lists a filing titled “Extension of Additional Charge of post of the Chairman & Managing Director, IREDA to Dr.Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance).”

A Mint report, republished by TradingView News on 2 October 2026, reproduced the filing’s operative wording: the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy approved an extension of Dr. Mohanty’s additional CMD charge for a further three months effective 1 October 2026, or until a regular incumbent is appointed, or until further orders, whichever is earliest. The report said he had been handling the additional charge since July 2026. The Mint report as republished by TradingView News is the source for that quoted wording; IREDA’s index confirms the filing’s title.

Did the CMD decision cause the share-price decline?

The available reporting places the management update and the 1 October 2026 share-price data close together in time, but does not show that the extension caused the fall from Rs.310 to Rs.111. The reported 0.61% decline refers only to the 1 October session; the roughly 64% comparison spans from the July 2024 peak to the October 2026 close. They are different periods and should not be treated as evidence of a market reaction to the filing.
