What was the extended iPhone 7 settlement deadline?
The deadline to submit payment information was extended from June 3 to July 3, 2024. The court’s October 30, 2024 final approval order records the extension; AppleInsider also reported it on July 1, 2024.
The deadline was for payment information, not a new, currently open opportunity to file an ordinary claim. The court approved the settlement on October 30, 2024. The reviewed court materials do not establish a general late-claim route.
Can you still file a claim?
The ordinary deadline has passed. If you did not submit payment information by July 3, 2024, the available materials do not confirm that you can now submit a late claim. Top Class Actions describes the settlement as closed, but it is a secondary summary rather than the court’s order.

If you already received an approval or payment notice, use the contact details in official correspondence and verify the administrator independently before sharing personal or banking information. The court order does not establish whether any individual claimant has been paid or whether a remedy is available for a missing payment, stale address, or uncashed check.
What was the lawsuit about?
In Tabak et al. v. Apple Inc., No. 4:19-cv-02455-JST, plaintiffs alleged that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus casing could bend during normal use and sever the connection between the audio IC chip and logic board, impairing audio, calls, and voice features. These were allegations resolved through a settlement; the case did not establish that every iPhone 7 or 7 Plus had the alleged problem.

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California granted final approval on October 30, 2024. The order approved a $35 million settlement fund and set conditional, pro-rata payment terms.

The extension gave potential claimants until July 3, 2024 to submit payment information. It did not make all iPhone 7 owners eligible, turn the stated payment ceilings into guaranteed amounts, or leave the ordinary deadline open after that date.
