SKIMS is a privately held apparel company founded by Kim Kardashian and Jens Grede in 2019. In November 2025, Goldman Sachs Alternatives announced a $225 million financing round that valued the company at $5 billion. The same announcement said SKIMS expected more than $1 billion in 2025 net sales—a company forecast, not a verified final result. How much is SKIMS worth?
The November 2025 financing valued SKIMS at $5 billion. Goldman Sachs Alternatives said it raised $225 million in the round. Because SKIMS is private, that figure is the valuation implied by a financing transaction—not a public share price or a direct measure of what an individual could sell a stake for.
The announcement also said the company expected more than $1 billion in net sales for 2025, six years after its founding. That was a forecast made at the time of the financing; it does not establish SKIMS’ final 2025 sales or its financial performance in 2026.
Earlier figures are not a directly comparable audited series. In a 2023 TIME interview, CEO Jens Grede said the company had generated $500 million in revenue in the prior year and that sales were up 86% year over year in April. Those statements belong to that interview’s time context and should not be read as a current revenue report.

The company presents fit and design as central to its products. Goldman Sachs’ financing announcement describes shapewear designed to enhance curves and underwear that stretches to twice its size. These are company descriptions, not independent product-performance findings.

How did Kardashian and Grede build the business?
Kardashian co-founded SKIMS with entrepreneur Jens Grede in 2019. The company’s growth strategy has combined a distinct shapewear and intimates focus with a widening apparel assortment, high-profile collaborations and brand campaigns. The Los Angeles Times attributed part of its early momentum to Kardashian’s visibility, collaborations and curated marketing; those factors provide business context, not a quantified explanation for the company’s valuation.
In a TIME interview, Kardashian, SKIMS’ co-founder and chief creative officer, described her product involvement this way: “I know how I like things to feel.” That personal point of view sits alongside the company’s stated emphasis on product design and fit.

By November 2025, SKIMS reported 18 company-owned stores in the United States and two franchise doors in Mexico. Those figures are a dated snapshot, not a current store count. The financing announcement said proceeds would support more physical retail and international expansion, as well as product innovation and growth in apparel and activewear.

What happened to SKKN by Kim?
In March 2025, Coty said SKIMS bought its 20% stake in SKKN by Kim, ending Coty’s partnership with the beauty brand. SKIMS said the transaction brought Kardashian’s beauty ventures under the SKIMS umbrella and that it intended to expand into beauty, skincare and fragrance, with launches planned from 2026. The planned launch timing does not confirm which products, if any, are currently available. Coty’s release covers the stake sale; SKIMS’ announcement describes its stated plans.
What the next growth phase depends on
SKIMS’ announced plans point to a business trying to grow beyond its original core without abandoning it. The company said it would invest in physical stores and international reach, continue product innovation, deepen intimates and shapewear, and scale apparel and activewear. NikeSKIMS and the planned beauty expansion extend that strategy through partnerships and adjacent categories.
