Richard Gere’s “$10 million New York mansion” refers to a Georgian-style home in North Salem that he and his wife reportedly bought for $9.8 million in 2022. The home was described as a 1930s property with seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. It is separate from Gere’s much larger Pound Ridge estate, which sold in 2022.
Where is Richard Gere’s $10 million mansion?
The home is in North Salem, a town in Westchester County, New York. The Real Deal reported in January 2022 that Gere and his wife paid $9.8 million for the property. The headline figure of $10 million is a rounding of that reported purchase price—not an appraisal or estimate of what the home is worth today. The Real Deal’s 2022 report identifies the location and transaction.
What is known about the North Salem home?
The published description is limited to a few basic facts: the property is Georgian-style, was built in the 1930s, and has seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. Those details come from The Real Deal’s 2022 coverage. The reporting does not provide a documented, room-by-room interior tour, so more specific claims about its finishes, layout or amenities are not established by that account.
How is it different from Gere’s Pound Ridge estate?
Gere’s North Salem mansion is often easy to confuse with his former Pound Ridge compound, but they are separate properties with different transaction histories. The Los Angeles Times described the Pound Ridge estate as a 49-acre property with an 11,658-square-foot, three-story main house, plus guesthouses, a stable, private lake, sandy beach, sports facilities, swimming pool and dining pavilion. Those acreage, size and amenity details belong to Pound Ridge, not the North Salem home. The Los Angeles Times account covers that separate property.
