Ingram Micro has launched its Sales Briefing Assistant, an AI agent inside its Xvantage platform. The assistant is designed to turn market data, customer activity and predictive insights into a daily brief with recommendations for technology partners. CEO Paul Bay described the aim as changing how those partners grow and compete, but the launch coverage does not report independently measured gains in productivity, sales or revenue.
What the Sales Briefing Assistant does
CRN describes the assistant as bringing together market information, customer activity and predictive insights to produce an actionable daily briefing. The intended use is to help a partner spot customer needs and potential sales opportunities in the course of its work in Xvantage.
In an interview with CRN, Bay offered two examples of questions a partner might ask: “Which of my customers are due for a tech refresh?” and “Where am I missing cross-sell opportunities?” Those examples illustrate the intended natural-language interaction; they do not establish how accurate the answers are or whether using the tool improves business results.
How it fits into Xvantage and Ingram Micro’s AI strategy
Xvantage is Ingram Micro’s broader commerce and operations platform for partners and vendors, bringing together commerce, insights and operational tools. CRN has also covered an Intelligent Data Assistant in Xvantage and the role of integrated data and human-AI collaboration in the platform.

Bay called the launch “the next step in our three-year journey to make AI operational at scale.” CRN reports that Ingram Micro is combining its internal data mesh with Google’s Gemini models. Bay said that mesh houses more than 400 trained AI models; that is his description of the company’s internal capabilities, not an independent count of models used by the Sales Briefing Assistant.
The assistant is part of a wider agentic-AI effort: Ingram Micro said it is mapping additional business processes into AI agents. In a separate 2025 CRN interview, global platform-group president Sanjib Sahoo described the broader AI Factory as drawing on four petabytes of data collected over 40 years and more than 400 proprietary models, with AWS and Gemini integration. Those figures refer to the wider AI Factory, not specifically to the Sales Briefing Assistant.

What the launch does—and does not—show
Bay characterized the goal as more than speed: “This isn’t just about faster insights. It’s about transforming how technology partners grow and compete in a data-driven world.” That is the company’s stated ambition. The launch coverage does not provide independent measurements of the assistant’s effect on partner productivity, time savings, sales conversion or revenue.
It also does not specify which accounts or regions can use the assistant, its pricing, or detailed data-handling terms. Those details should not be inferred from the announcement. The coverage describes planned inputs and outputs, but does not establish the assistant’s accuracy, the degree of human review required, or how recommendations are acted on.
