Infor acquired the assets of Saleslogix from Swiftpage on September 2, 2014—not in 2005. Infor said the SaaS CRM product would become Infor CRM and serve as its go-forward cloud CRM offering. The transaction expanded Infor’s sales and service capabilities, but the available record does not establish a measured competitive result against Salesforce.

Why did Infor acquire Saleslogix?
Infor said Saleslogix complemented its CRM products by adding sales and service functionality to its industry-focused CloudSuites. The SaaS delivery model and access across devices were part of the product description in the filing. In a September 2014 customer letter, CEO Charles Phillips said Infor planned to invest in scalability, refresh the user interface, develop industry-specific functionality, and integrate the product with Infor ERP and finance systems. Those were plans announced at the time, not confirmation that every initiative was completed. Infor customer letter, September 2014
Did Saleslogix become Infor CRM?
Yes. Phillips wrote to customers: “The Saleslogix product will be our go-forward cloud CRM offering and will be renamed Infor CRM.” A later Infor CRM database help page likewise states that Saleslogix is now Infor CRM. Its documentation references Saleslogix versions 8.0 through 8.1 Update 03 unless otherwise noted; that historical naming and documentation do not establish whether those versions remain supported, licensed, or available today. No. The Saleslogix transaction occurred in 2014. In 2005, Infor announced an agreement to acquire MAPICS, a separate company whose products included extended ERP, CRM, and supply-chain management. Infor’s retrospective identifies SyteLine ERP as a product added through MAPICS. The MAPICS deal should not be confused with the later Saleslogix asset acquisition. What does the Salesforce comparison establish?
The phrase “takes on Salesforce.com” is competitive framing, not a demonstrated outcome. The available transaction and customer-letter materials describe Saleslogix as SaaS CRM with sales and service functions, access across devices, and planned integration with Infor ERP and finance systems. They do not provide matched pricing, feature benchmarks, customer results, or an independent head-to-head assessment against Salesforce. The record therefore supports describing Infor’s product strategy, but not claiming that the acquisition improved Infor’s competitive position by a measurable amount.
