inDrive has added grocery and ready-to-eat meal delivery through Krave Mart, with its January 2026 launch focused on Karachi. The move is a concrete step toward what the company calls a “super app,” but a grocery option inside a ride-hailing app does not yet prove that customers use the services together—or that the combined business is profitable.
What has inDrive added in Pakistan?
On January 12, 2026, inDrive announced inDrive.Groceries with Krave Mart, offering grocery and ready-to-eat meal orders through the inDrive app. The launch was initially available in Karachi and listed more than 7,500 items, according to inDrive’s launch announcement.
At launch, the company said most orders arrived within 30 minutes and advertised free delivery on orders above PKR 499. Those were launch-period claims and promotional terms, not confirmation of current delivery times or fees.
InDrive describes groceries as a frequent everyday service that can complement rides and make the app more useful. Country Manager Awais Saeed said the launch moved the company closer to its vision of a “true Super App in Pakistan.” That is the company’s strategic framing; the existence of a grocery tile does not establish a mature, integrated platform.

Does inDrive own Krave Mart?
The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) authorized Suol Innovations Limited’s acquisition of a majority shareholding in KRRAVE Technologies, the operator of KRRAVE Mart. Its March 11, 2026 release described KRRAVE Mart as an online grocery and essentials delivery business operating in Karachi.
The CCP said the companies operated in distinct sectors and found no horizontal or vertical overlap in its Phase-I assessment. For the market it reviewed—business-to-consumer grocery e-commerce delivery in Karachi—it concluded the acquisition was unlikely to create or strengthen dominance or substantially lessen competition.

The Commission also said the transaction had been completed before the required pre-merger approval and directed compliance for future transactions. This was a decision on a particular acquisition and a defined market, not a blanket ruling on every competition question that could arise from inDrive’s wider platform strategy.
How far does the expansion reach?
The January launch centered on Karachi. Dawn reported on January 28, 2026, that Lahore and the twin cities were possible future expansion areas, dependent on proving sustainable growth and building the operating model. It cited infrastructure, distance and security as practical constraints. The CCP’s release likewise describes KRRAVE Mart’s Karachi operations; neither source establishes a current, complete city-by-city availability map.

Expansion therefore involves more than adding the service to an app. Grocery delivery depends on local inventory and fulfillment, and the Karachi launch alone does not show that those operations can be replicated reliably in other cities.
What do the growth figures actually show?
Several reported figures point to growth in inDrive’s Pakistan businesses, but they come from company statements or an executive estimate rather than one consistent, independently audited measurement set.

- Ride-hailing share: Founder Arsen Tomsky claimed in a January 2026 Dawn report that inDrive had 60 percent of Pakistan’s ride-hailing market. This is his reported claim, not an independently measured market-share result.
- Growth since Careem’s exit: Dawn attributed figures of 40 percent growth in ride-hailing, 57 percent growth in couriers and a fourfold increase in city-to-city rides to inDrive.
- 2025 activity: TechCrunch reported company data showing Pakistan ride volumes rose nearly 40 percent year over year in 2025, while courier deliveries grew 67 percent in the first half of that year.
- Potential adoption: Awais Saeed told the Associated Press of Pakistan that 5 percent of Pakistani users use ride-hailing, compared with approximately 20 percent globally. The report did not provide the underlying dataset or methodology, so this should be read as his estimate, not a verified national statistic.
These figures describe different services, periods and measures. They indicate the company sees growth opportunities, but do not establish grocery profitability, repeat-order rates or whether grocery customers also become ride or courier customers.

The debate is not settled by the number of services listed in one app. For customers, investors and competitors, the more useful tests are whether the services reinforce one another and whether the business can deliver them sustainably.

- Cross-service use and frequency: Do grocery customers also use rides or couriers, and does having services together improve retention? The available reporting explains the intended benefit but does not provide cohort data.
- Operational execution: Can Krave Mart maintain local inventory and reliable fulfillment beyond Karachi? Current Karachi operations and plans for other cities are not proof of scalable coverage.
- Affordability: Compare the full basket price and delivery terms over time. Launch promotions alone do not show whether the service remains good value.
- Competition and choice: The CCP’s findings apply to its review of the KRRAVE acquisition in Karachi’s B2C grocery e-commerce delivery market. They do not determine the competitive effects of every future service, market or city.
- Economics: The sources do not establish audited grocery margins or other unit economics. Without those, growth in orders alone cannot show that the service is financially sustainable.
What happened to Careem in Pakistan?
The coverage cited here refers to Careem’s exit when discussing inDrive’s reported growth, but it does not provide a complete account of competitors’ current operations. In particular, the reported growth figures are attributed to inDrive and should not be read as an independent measure of how the entire market changed after Careem’s exit.
Can inDrive become Pakistan’s super app?
It has made a tangible move in that direction by placing grocery and ready-to-eat meal ordering through Krave Mart alongside its existing app services. Whether that becomes a meaningful, sustainable platform depends on evidence not established in the cited reporting: repeat use, cross-service adoption, dependable expansion, consumer value and profitable delivery economics. “Super app” remains inDrive’s ambition, not a proven outcome.
