The Indian Navy Agniveer MR and SSR 02/2024 application deadline was extended to June 5, 2024, and has long passed. The batch’s application link is historical, not a way to apply now. For a current opportunity, check the Indian Navy recruitment website for a new official notice.
What happened to the 02/2024 application deadline?
The deadline for the Agniveer MR and SSR 02/2024 applications was extended to June 5, 2024. A correction window followed from June 6 to 8, 2024. The original “deadline next week” wording is therefore outdated, and this recruitment cycle is closed. The dated report on the extension describes that historical change.
Do not treat the batch’s old application portal as an active application link. The Navy’s official recruitment site is the appropriate place to check whether a later batch has been announced and to follow the instructions in its notice.
Was there a later application window?
A separate 2026 cycle for the 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches reportedly accepted applications from March 14 through April 6, 2026. That reported period had also ended by October 8, 2026. It does not establish that applications for any subsequent batch are open. Check the Navy’s official site for current status rather than relying on a past cycle’s dates. The report on the 2026 window is secondary context.

How MR and SSR eligibility differed in the 02/2024 notices
MR and SSR had separate education requirements and entry-specific conditions. The 02/2024 notices also set age limits, marital-status requirements and other eligibility criteria; the summary below is not a substitute for checking the notice that applies to an entry.
| Entry | Education route stated in the 02/2024 notice | Other criteria |
|---|---|---|
| MR | Matriculation with at least 50% aggregate from a recognized board. | Age range, marital status and other conditions are set out in the MR notice; check it directly. Official MR notice |
| SSR | 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics and at least 50% aggregate, or specified three-year engineering diploma or two-year vocational course with Physics and Mathematics and the required aggregate. | Age range, marital status and other conditions are set out in the SSR notice; check it directly. Official SSR notice |
What selection involved
Both entries used INET shortlisting followed by a physical fitness test (PFT), written examination and recruitment medical examination. The detailed test format and criteria differ by entry, so MR candidates should use the MR notice and SSR candidates the SSR notice.

SSR INET and physical standards
For SSR, the 02/2024 notice described a one-hour, computer-based INET in Hindi and English. It had 100 one-mark multiple-choice questions across English, Science, Mathematics and General Awareness, with a deduction of one fourth of a mark for each wrong answer. Shortlisting was state-wise, and cutoffs could vary.
The SSR notice’s PFT standards were:
| Standard | Male candidates | Female candidates |
|---|---|---|
| 1.6 km run | 6 minutes 30 seconds | 8 minutes |
| Squats | 20 | 15 |
| Push-ups | 15 | 10 |
| Bent-knee sit-ups | 15 | 10 |
These are requirements stated in the SSR 02/2024 notice, not a guarantee of the standards for a future batch. MR’s INET format and criteria are specified separately in its notice. See the MR notice and the SSR notice.
