It is an entry route to a Permanent Commission in the Indian Navy’s Executive and Technical branches. The notice copy for the July 2026 course describes a four-year B.Tech programme at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. The course-specific official notice—not a general calendar or an older notice—should be used to confirm details for any future intake.

What are the general eligibility criteria?
The Navy’s 2025 officer entry calendar gives these general criteria for the entry:
- Age: 17 to 19½ years. The exact eligible date-of-birth range depends on the course notice.
- PCM marks: At least 70% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- English marks: At least 50% in English in Class X or Class XII.
These are calendar-level criteria, not a substitute for the conditions in a specific course notice. Check the applicable notice for the cohort’s exact age dates and any other conditions.

How is shortlisting done?
The 2025 officer entry calendar says candidates are shortlisted using the JEE (Main) Common Ranking List. JEE Main performance is therefore relevant to applicants planning for a future cycle. The calendar does not state an application success rate or selection odds; its marks thresholds are eligibility criteria, not estimates of an applicant’s chance of selection.
