The India Post GDS recruitment reopening for 263 posts in Manipur Division was a historical 2023 notice, not a current application window. Scroll reported on June 29, 2023, that applications were reopened for Branch Postmaster (BPM) and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) posts, with a July 8, 2023 deadline. That deadline has passed.
What the 263-post reopening covered
According to Scroll’s June 29, 2023 report, India Post reopened applications for 263 Gramin Dak Sevak vacancies in Branch Post Offices in Manipur Division, North East Circle. The roles named in the report were Branch Postmaster (BPM) and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM).
The report gave July 8, 2023 as the application deadline. Both the vacancy count and deadline refer to that historical reopening; they are not a current vacancy announcement.
Is the Manipur application window open now?
No—not on the basis of the 2023 report. The reported July 8, 2023 deadline is long past. India Post’s official GDS portal now displays Schedule-II, July-2026 information and says the correction window is closed. That is a later schedule, not a reopening of the 2023 Manipur application window. Check the portal for any newer official notice and its dates before acting.

Where to check for current GDS applications
Use the official India Post GDS portal for active notices and application status. The historical article directed candidates to the GDS online portal, but its old application route should not be treated as a live form. India Post’s GDS FAQ says applications are submitted online and that candidates do not need to send a physical application, CV, or resume to postal authorities.

Rely on official India Post pages for recruitment notices. The GDS portal warns candidates about unauthorized or suspicious communications and identifies official Department of Posts email domains as ending in @indiapost.gov.in or @indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. Do not send money or personal information in response to an unsolicited message claiming that the expired 2023 window is open.
