India Post’s 2026 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) fourth merit list was reported released on June 8, 2026. Start at the official India Post GDS recruitment portal; however, the page reviewed on October 8, 2026 displays the Schedule-II, July-2026 recruitment rather than a prominent fourth-list link. The old list’s direct link could not be verified as live, so use the portal for current instructions instead of relying on a potentially stale news link.
Where to check the India Post GDS 4th merit list
The official starting point is the India Post GDS Online Recruitment portal. As reviewed on October 8, 2026, it showed the Schedule-II, July-2026 recruitment, its login and recruitment notices—not a prominent link to the fourth list. The portal is still the best place to look for any active notice or candidate-specific instruction, but the earlier fourth-list PDF links could not be confirmed as live.

News reports described the list as state- or postal-circle-wise PDFs. If an official fourth-list PDF remains accessible, use the relevant circle’s file and search within it for your registration number.
- Open the official GDS recruitment portal.
- Check the current recruitment notices and login for an active result link or an instruction addressed to you. The page may have moved on to a later schedule.
- If an official fourth-list PDF is available, open the PDF for your postal circle or state.
- Use the PDF viewer’s search function to enter your registration number. Check that the number and other identifying details match before treating a result as yours.
- Follow the current official or authorized instructions for any next step; do not rely on an old deadline or an unverified third-party link.
When was the fourth list released?
Jagran Josh reported the release on June 8, 2026, and NDTV reported on June 9 that the fourth list had been announced. The date is a reported release date; the current recruitment page reviewed October 8 no longer prominently displayed that announcement.
What it means if your name is on the list
The fourth list is a shortlist for the next stage, not confirmation of final appointment. Candidates named in the list were directed to document verification. Coverage says selection was based on Class 10 marks and includes BPM, ABPM and Dak Sevak roles. Check the relevant official instructions for your circle and application before acting.
A later notice can help explain the broader merit process, but it must not be mistaken for the original fourth-list rules. India Post’s official Schedule-II, July-2026 notification describes merit based on secondary-school marks and explains grade or CGPA conversion and tie-break priorities for that schedule. Those detailed rules apply to Schedule-II, July-2026; they do not establish the full rules of the earlier fourth list.

A secondary report gave June 23, 2026 as the fourth-list document-verification deadline. That date had passed by October 8, 2026. If you are on the list or are trying to confirm your status, use the current official portal or authorized candidate-specific communication for any applicable instructions; do not assume the reported June deadline remains open or that an old article’s link reflects current status.
Quick Recap
Official portal or an old direct link?
| Route | What it offers | What to watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Official India Post GDS portal | Authoritative starting point for current recruitment notices and login; on October 8, 2026 it displayed Schedule-II, July-2026. | The fourth-list announcement was not prominent on the page reviewed, so its PDF may no longer be linked there. |
| Older news-article link | May describe the former state-wise PDF route and reported release date. | It may redirect or be stale; the fourth-list PDF’s live status could not be verified. |
