InboxDollars can pay members for surveys, advertiser and app offers, shopping, searches, games, and other activities—but a reward shown on screen is not the same as cash in hand. Activities depend on eligibility and availability, many credits require advertiser approval, and the service does not guarantee a particular amount of work or earnings. The practical way to improve your chances is to follow each offer’s rules and protect its tracking, not to rely on a guaranteed “hack.”
What InboxDollars is—and what this review can establish
InboxDollars is an online rewards service. Its official materials describe several ways to earn account credits, but they do not establish a dependable hourly rate or typical member income. The company says it and its advertisers make no guarantees about the number or dollar value of available activities in its Offer Crediting Terms. Treat any displayed amount as a conditional reward subject to eligibility, completion, tracking, and approval.
InboxDollars says it has paid more than $57 million in cumulative member cash rewards since 2000, according to its About Us page. That is a company-reported total, not independent verification or evidence of what an individual member can earn.
Ways to earn: what to check before you start
| Activity | What to know |
|---|---|
| Cash offers | Offers may involve purchases, paid subscriptions, trials, or additional tasks. Many are limited to first-time customers; previous completion through InboxDollars, another site or app, or directly with the advertiser may make you ineligible. Read the offer-specific terms. InboxDollars’ cash-offer guidance explains the category. |
| App offers | Check the required level, tasks, and deadline before installing. Providers validate completion, and some approved tiered offers may take 7–10 days to credit. Prior downloads, ad blockers, or third-party-cookie settings can interfere with tracking. See Cash Apps & App Offers. |
| Shopping cash back | Review merchant exclusions and special terms, then start from the InboxDollars merchant link just before buying. Shopping credits may take 30–45 days, according to Cash Credits. |
| Surveys | Eligibility and availability vary. InboxDollars says survey credit timing can range from 15 minutes to 1–2 days or up to 30 days, depending on advertiser reporting. Do not count an uncredited survey as cash. |
| Cash Search | The Cash Search guidance describes qualifying natural searches, a weekly goal, and a $0.05 loyalty reward for qualifying searches on four or more consecutive days. Check the current account page for live thresholds and terms. |
| Games, emails, Scratch & Win | These are among the activities described in InboxDollars’ materials, but availability and rewards vary. Scratch & Win progress depends on activity and a scratch card may yield no win; it is not a predictable earning method. See Scratch & Win guidance. |
How to reduce the chance an offer fails to track
- Read the full terms first. Check eligibility, first-time-customer restrictions, required spending or subscription commitments, completion steps, and any cancellation conditions. An attractive headline reward may require more than registration. InboxDollars’ cash-offer information and crediting terms explain that offer rules and advertiser approval govern credit.
- Start from InboxDollars and complete in the same tracked session. Use the offer’s link and follow its steps promptly. Avoid ad-blocking or privacy settings that prevent the required tracking, and do not switch to another reward or coupon site mid-session.
- Keep evidence. Save confirmation emails, registration details, receipts, and completion messages that could help document what you did. Retain only what is necessary and protect sensitive account information.
- Allow for validation time. Credit depends on reporting by the advertiser or provider. InboxDollars says cash offers may take up to 30 days or longer in some cases; purchases may take 30–90 days under its Cash Offer Crediting guidance. App offers can have their own validation and delay rules.
- For shopping, avoid competing tracking paths. Activate the merchant link only when ready to shop and avoid using an intervening coupon or rewards site or extension during that session. InboxDollars discusses shopping-credit tracking in its shopping credit guidance.
When an activity is not worth pursuing
Compare an activity by its full cost and conditions rather than its headline reward. An offer that requires spending or a recurring subscription may not make sense if the net value after costs is low, the requirements are unclear, or you cannot meet the advertiser’s eligibility rules. Consider the time required, approval dependency, tracking risk, and likely wait for credit alongside the displayed reward. The available evidence does not support ranking InboxDollars activities by earnings.

Redemption, payment methods, and taxes
InboxDollars’ Payment Terms set a $30 minimum in posted account balance before a member can request redemption. The terms list PayPal and gift cards, subject to compliance and the rules for the specific redemption offer. Choices can change; check the current redemption screen rather than relying on older app descriptions, which mention checks and gift cards.
Members are responsible for taxes under the payment terms. InboxDollars’ Earnings, Taxes, Returns page says the company will file a 1099 for members who earn $600 or more from the company in a calendar year. Tax reporting requirements can depend on individual circumstances, so consult current official tax guidance or a qualified tax professional if you need advice about your situation.
