Is In-N-Out coming to Nashville?
In-N-Out announced its Tennessee expansion on January 10, 2023. The plan was to establish an eastern territory office in Franklin and begin opening restaurants in and around Nashville. That is the basis for the 2025 headline wording that the chain was headed to Nashville; it referred to the broader Nashville-area entry, not a restaurant in Franklin being inside Nashville. Tennessee’s announcement described the restaurant plans as future locations.
For the Franklin project, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development announced a planned investment of $125.5 million and 277 expected jobs. Those were figures in the 2023 announcement, not confirmation of final spending or the number of jobs ultimately realized. Governor Bill Lee described the state as having an “unmatched business climate” and called its workforce and central location reasons it was an “ideal place” for In-N-Out’s first eastern U.S. hub; that was the governor’s promotional characterization. The state announcement contains the original figures and statement.
Where is the In-N-Out in Franklin, Tennessee?
The Franklin restaurant is at 1951 Double Double Dr., Franklin, TN. In-N-Out announced that it opened on February 25, 2026, and its official Franklin location page lists the restaurant. Franklin is a separate city south of Nashville, so this address is not a Nashville address.

The company’s opening announcement confirms the Franklin restaurant, but the sources cited here do not confirm opening dates or current status for every restaurant planned in and around Nashville. What happened to the original 2026 timeline?
A February 7, 2025 article said the first Tennessee locations were expected in 2026, “starting with Nashville.” That was a forecast based on the expansion plan, not an opening confirmation. The timeline is now partly historical: the Franklin location opened in 2026, as In-N-Out later confirmed. The distinction matters because the original announcement described a Franklin office and restaurants in and around Nashville, while the opening release confirms a restaurant specifically in Franklin. The 2025 article preserves the earlier wording.

Does the announcement mean a Nashville-area restaurant is open?
Not on the evidence available here. The sources establish the original intention to open restaurants in and around Nashville and confirm the Franklin opening. They do not provide a complete, current status list for the other planned locations. Check In-N-Out’s official restaurant directory for current locations rather than treating the 2023 plan or the 2025 forecast as proof that a specific Nashville-area site is open.
