BIG3 confirmed the offer, and later reporting said it never came to fruition.
What was the $5 million offer?
BIG3’s own April 12, 2024 roundup said the league had offered Iowa’s Caitlin Clark $5 million to join the league. The wording establishes an offer, not a signed contract or completed payment.
Ice Cube, BIG3 co-founder O’Shea Jackson, publicly confirmed the offer on March 27, 2024. As quoted by The Guardian, he said: “We intended the offer to remain private while Caitlin Clark plays for the championship.” He added: “But I won’t deny what’s now already out there: BIG3 made a historic offer to Caitlin Clark. Why wouldn’t we? Caitlin is a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the BIG3.”
Did Caitlin Clark sign with BIG3 or receive $5 million?
The available evidence does not establish that Clark signed a BIG3 contract or received the $5 million. A July 2025 TMZ report said the offer never came to fruition. That outcome is based on later reporting; the sources confirming the offer do not document a completed deal or payment.

BIG3 is a professional 3-on-3 basketball league founded by Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz. Its June 12, 2026 announcement described its ninth season and its half-court FIREBALL3 format: games at events are played to 50 points and include a four-point shot. Those league details provide context but do not change what is known about Clark’s 2024 offer. The announcement was filed with the SEC and also discussed a proposed business combination with Graf Global Corp.; that transaction is separate from the offer.
