What were the 2025 registration and exam dates?
ICAR’s public notice, dated 8 May 2025, said applications for both examinations opened on 6 May and closed on 5 June 2025 at 5:00 PM. The fee transaction deadline was 5 June at 11:50 PM. NTA scheduled the examinations for 3 July 2025. ICAR’s registration notice and the NTA AIEEA (PG)-2025 bulletin provide the official details.

NTA’s application notice is listed in its Notice Board Archive. The AIEEA (PG) bulletin also identifies 3 July as the exam date. The title phrase “exams in June” is therefore incorrect for this cycle.
Which exams did the notice cover?
- AIEEA (PG)-2025: the entrance examination for postgraduate admission.
- AICE-JRF/SRF (Ph.D.)-2025: the entrance examination for doctoral admission and fellowship selection.
The NTA bulletin cited here is specifically for AIEEA (PG). Its PG subject-group details and seat figures should not be treated as information about the Ph.D. examination.

What did the AIEEA (PG) exam involve?
According to the NTA bulletin, AIEEA (PG)-2025 was a computer-based test with objective multiple-choice questions, conducted in English, and lasting 120 minutes. The bulletin lists 20 major subject groups and 81 sub-subjects. Candidates were to select a major group compatible with their undergraduate subject; sub-subject choices within the qualified group were available during counseling.
What should candidates know about seats and syllabus?
The bulletin gives 4,896 ICAR All India Quota seats in PG programmes as the historical total for 2024-25. It describes the 2025-26 seat count as tentative and says final seat information would be displayed during counseling, so 4,896 is not the confirmed 2025-26 total.

No. The 2025 registration window and exam date are historical. Schedules change from year to year: for example, ICAR’s notice for the 2026-27 cycle gives a registration window of 8 May to 7 June 2026. That later schedule does not establish dates for any subsequent cycle. Check the current notices on ICAR and NTA before relying on a deadline or exam date. ICAR’s 2026 notice.
