ICAI’s January 2025 exam hub covered the CA Foundation and Intermediate examinations. The Foundation exam initially set for January 14 was rescheduled to January 16, so the Foundation exam dates were January 12, 16, 18 and 20, 2025. A reproduced ICAI notification said the Intermediate schedule was unchanged.
What changed in the January 2025 CA exam schedule?
A reproduced ICAI notification dated November 29, 2024 moved the Foundation examination scheduled for January 14 to January 16 because of Makar Sankranti, Bihu and Pongal. It reported no change to the Intermediate schedule. The notification reproduction is available from TaxGuru.
Foundation
After the revision, the Foundation exam dates were January 12, 16, 18 and 20, 2025. January 16 replaced January 14; it was not an additional exam date.
Intermediate
The reproduced notification said Intermediate dates remained as announced. The sources available here do not establish each Intermediate paper’s date, time, group or session, so a paper-by-paper timetable cannot be reliably reproduced here.

ICAI’s official January 2025 examinations hub listed resources for Foundation and Intermediate, including application requirements, important dates, guidance notes, answer-book specimens and admit-card guidance. Consult ICAI’s original materials for the exact paper timetable and exam instructions.
Application and correction-window dates
These application dates were for the January 2025 cycle and have passed. ICAI’s important-dates PDF listed the following windows:
- Applications opened November 10, 2024.
- November 23, 2024 was the deadline to submit without a late fee.
- November 26, 2024 was the deadline to submit with a late fee.
- The correction window ran from November 27 through November 29, 2024.
These dates are recorded in ICAI’s January 2025 important-dates PDF; they are not deadlines for a later examination cycle.

In an April 24, 2024 announcement, ICAI’s Board of Studies said Foundation and Intermediate examinations would be held three times a year—May/June, September and January—from May/June 2024 onward. At that point, CA Final remained scheduled twice a year, in May and November. The announcement also set a minimum four-month Board of Studies registration period for Foundation and a minimum eight-month study-course period for Intermediate, alongside other eligibility conditions. Those are historical details about the 2025 cycle, not current eligibility guidance; check ICAI’s current rules before applying. See the April 24, 2024 announcement.
ICAI announced on March 27, 2025 that CA Final would move to three annual attempts, in January, May and September. That later decision does not change what the January 2025 schedule was. Details are in ICAI’s March 27, 2025 press release.
