The Indian Air Force’s Agniveervayu Intake 01/2025 application window is closed. Registration ran from 11:00 on 17 January to 23:00 on 6 February 2024, and the notice scheduled the online exam to begin on 17 March 2024. The link printed in that notice was agnipathvayu.cdac.in; it is a historical application address, not confirmation that applications are open now.
Is Agniveervayu registration open now?
No. The headline refers to the 2024 application period for Intake 01/2025, which has passed. A District Medchal Malkajgiri, Government of Telangana page listed registration for Intake 01/2027 from 12 January to 1 February 2026 and exams on 30 or 31 March 2026; those dates have also passed as of 8 October 2026. For a later intake, check the official recruitment portal for a new notice rather than relying on old dates.
The 2024 notice directed applicants to https://agnipathvayu.cdac.in and said applications would be accepted only through online registration. A government page for Intake 01/2027 links to https://iafrecruitment.edcil.co.in/agniveervayu/. Verify the current cycle’s instructions on the portal itself; an address printed in an old notice does not establish that a current application window is available.
Who could apply under the 2024 notice?
Intake 01/2025 invited unmarried Indian male and female candidates to take a selection test under the Agnipath Scheme. The notice specified that this selection was not for commissioning as an officer, pilot, navigator or airman.

Age limit
The 2024 notice specified a birth-date range of 2 January 2004 through 2 July 2007, inclusive. It also said a successful candidate must be no older than 21 at enrolment. These are Intake 01/2025 particulars, not a current age rule for a later cycle.
Education after 12th: science and other-than-science routes
Eligibility depended on the educational route. The notice set out these broad pathways:

Eligible science candidates could choose to sit both the science and other-than-science examinations in one sitting; the combined test lasted 85 minutes. The summary above does not replace the notice’s detailed rules on recognized boards, qualifying pathways or medical standards. Check the complete notice for the relevant intake before deciding whether you qualify.
How the 2024 selection test worked
Phase I was an objective online test. The 2024 notification said the science subjects followed the 10+2 CBSE syllabus, and described the following scoring rules:

- One mark for each correct answer.
- No marks for an unattempted question.
- A deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
- Scores would be normalized across exam sessions, and candidates had to qualify in each paper.
The selection process also included later stages: Phase II, physical fitness and adaptability tests, and a medical examination. The notice identified a 1.6 km run for PFT-I and advised candidates to bring sports shoes and shorts or track pants. Meeting a training target or owning particular gear does not by itself establish eligibility or selection.

The 2024 notice described a four-year engagement under the Air Force Act, 1950. It said the Indian Air Force was not obliged to retain Agniveervayu after those four years. Subject to organizational requirements and government discretion, up to 25% of each specific batch could be considered for regular-cadre enrolment. Consideration was not a promise of retention or an individual entitlement.
The same notice set out pay, allowances, leave, insurance, terminal benefits and limits on early release. Those are cycle-specific terms; figures from the 2024 notice should not be treated as current benefits for another intake without checking its notification.
Use official recruitment communications
The Intake 01/2025 notification stated: “SELECTION IN THE INDIAN AIR FORCE IS ‘FAIR & TRANSPARENT’ AND ON MERIT ONLY. AT NO STAGE ANY BRIBE IS REQUIRED TO BE PAID TO ANYONE FOR SELECTION OR RECRUITMENT IN THE INDIAN AIR FORCE.” Rely on official recruitment instructions and communications, not anyone claiming payment can secure selection.
