What the four-month photos show
In a review for Woman & Home, beauty editor Fiona McKim described visible changes after four months of using the device, including softer-looking wrinkles and a brighter under-eye area. Her account is useful as a firsthand report, but it is anecdotal: one person’s photos cannot establish that the device caused the changes, how often users see similar results, or what a typical outcome looks like.
Which LYMA Laser this review concerns
This article concerns the original LYMA Laser, not the separate LYMA Laser PRO. The original device’s FDA filing describes an over-the-counter light-based device intended to treat full-face wrinkles. Its light sources are an 808 nm near-infrared laser and a 620 nm red LED, with an 8 cm² treatment area and a three-minute treatment duration per area.
The FDA record for the original device, K210823, shows a substantially-equivalent decision dated March 18, 2022. The filing identifies LightStim for Wrinkles and Trinity Wrinkle Remover as predicate devices. A substantial-equivalence decision through the 510(k) process is not the same as FDA approval, and the filing says no FDA performance standards had been established for this device. The LYMA Laser PRO has its own FDA record, K243330, with a substantially-equivalent decision dated February 21, 2025, for treating face wrinkles. That is a separate filing and should not be used to describe the original model. FDA record for LYMA Laser PRO.
What the evidence says about cosmetic results
LYMA’s reported figures
LYMA’s product page reports a 103% increase in skin elasticity in 30 days, described as measured with a Cutometer, and a 46% reduction in pigmentation over six weeks. These are company-reported figures. The full methods, sample sizes, comparators, and statistical uncertainty for those exact claims are not established in a primary publication here, so they should not be treated as a prediction of what an individual user will experience. A wound-healing study is not a wrinkle trial
A peer-reviewed 2025 paper in Aesthetic Surgery Journal Open Forum examined a proprietary near-infrared laser in preclinical human-skin samples and a randomized trial involving 20 people with chronic wounds. The authors reported 45 genes altered in the laser arm and one in the LED arm. In the laser group, mean wound area decreased by 78%, and four of 10 wounds healed completely. Those results concern chronic wounds, not routine at-home facial wrinkle treatment, and they do not establish what the LYMA Laser will do for cosmetic concerns.
The paper says a further preclinical study and a Phase 2 clinical trial are needed. It also discloses that Graeme Glass and Paul Clayton are Lyma shareholders; LYMA supplied the device and funded the preclinical arm. The authors state that the company was not involved in protocol design, data acquisition, evaluation, writing, or journal selection. Glass et al., 2025 study.

How much use LYMA recommends
LYMA recommends daily use for the first 12 weeks, followed by maintenance use three times a week. Its instructions say to glide the device over the face and neck in upward motions, repeating each area three times, or to hold it on a targeted area for three minutes. The routine matters when deciding whether the device is a realistic fit: the recommended starting phase is daily, and treatment involves repeated passes or focused holds rather than a single quick sweep. The product page describes the lens as suitable for the face, neck, and targeted areas.

Eye-use caution
LYMA advises users not to look directly into the lens and recommends seeking medical advice before use if they have a pre-existing eye condition. Because the editor’s account mentions the under-eye area, this caution is especially relevant before attempting treatment near the eyes. Is the LYMA Laser worth considering?
The most useful way to read the photos is as one editor’s four-month experience, not a guarantee. The original model has a defined wrinkle-treatment indication and an FDA 510(k) substantial-equivalence decision, but the evidence summarized here does not establish typical at-home wrinkle outcomes. LYMA’s cosmetic percentages are company-reported, while the peer-reviewed clinical study concerns chronic wounds.

Consider whether you are comfortable with that evidence gap and can follow the recommended daily routine for 12 weeks before maintenance. If you are weighing it primarily for predictable wrinkle improvement, the available information does not support a confident prediction of your result.
