On September 16, 2024, the Teamsters said hundreds of Amazon delivery drivers working through three Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) at the DBK4 facility in Queens had signed union authorization cards. The union said a majority at each DSP supported organizing and that the drivers were demanding recognition and contract negotiations. The announcement documented that demand—not Amazon’s recognition of the union, the start of negotiations, or a signed contract.
What the Teamsters announced at DBK4
In its September 16, 2024 announcement, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters said hundreds of drivers at Amazon’s DBK4 delivery warehouse in Queens had organized across three DSPs. The union reported that a majority of workers at each DSP had signed authorization cards and said the drivers delivered a demand for union recognition and a Teamsters contract.
Authorization cards record workers’ support for union representation. The Teamsters’ announcement reported the card support and organizing demand; it did not report an election result or an agreement with Amazon or the DSPs. The card-majority figure and driver count are claims in the union’s account, not an independently certified count established by the cited coverage.
The New York City Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, also described the DBK4 action in a September 20, 2024 account, reporting hundreds of drivers across three DSPs seeking recognition, negotiations, fair pay, and better conditions. That account corroborates the reported event from another labor organization; it is not an independent adjudication of the claims.

What workers said they wanted to change
The Teamsters said DBK4 drivers had organized for more than a year and had walked off the job the previous December. The union listed consistent schedules, properly maintained trucks, and reasonable workloads among their concerns. These are concerns described by the union on the workers’ behalf, rather than findings from a government investigation.
David Colon, identified by the Teamsters as a DBK4 driver, said: “We’re proud to join the growing movement of Amazon Teamsters who are ready to fight alongside our union brothers and sisters for what we deserve.”

How the DBK4 announcement differs from the later DBK1 action
A separate Queens organizing announcement came in December 2025. The Teamsters said more than 200 drivers at Amazon’s DBK1 facility in Woodside had organized with Teamsters Local 804 and marched to management to demand a contract. That was a different facility and a later event; it should not be treated as an update to the DBK4 announcement.

The later DBK1 announcement listed better pay, safety standards, more manageable routes, and package quotas among the issues raised by those drivers. It also described the DSP arrangement as involving third-party companies; that is the union’s characterization, not a legal finding presented here. A DBK1 announcement does not establish what happened to the earlier DBK4 campaign.

Did the DBK4 drivers get a contract?
The September 2024 Teamsters announcement and the cited September 2024 labor-council account do not establish whether DBK4 drivers later secured a contract, whether their demands were met, or what their ultimate bargaining status became. They document the reported card support and the demand for recognition and negotiations, not a completed outcome.
