Both application windows are closed: applications were accepted from August 2 through August 22, 2024, ending at 5:00 PM. The available sources here do not establish a final selection or result for either advertisement, so check HPSC’s current notices for an official update.
What happened to the 2024 application window?
The 36 vacancies were not one combined post. HPSC issued two advertisements: Advt. No. 40/2024 for Motor Vehicle Officer (Enforcement), with 13 posts, and Advt. No. 41/2024 for Motor Vehicle Officer in the Transport Department, with 23 posts. The application dates and vacancy breakdown below relate to the Transport notice; do not assume every detail applied identically to the Enforcement recruitment.
The Transport notice directed candidates to apply online through HPSC. That was the route for the 2024 application process, not an indication that applications remain open.
How did the two Motor Vehicle Officer posts differ?
| Advertisement and post | Departmental function | Vacancies | Requirements reported | Exam information |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Advt. No. 40/2024, Motor Vehicle Officer (Enforcement) | Enforcement | 13 | A recruitment report states graduation with at least 60% marks and Hindi or Sanskrit through matriculation or higher education. Confirm the official advertisement for authoritative eligibility details. | Do not apply the Advt. No. 41 exam details to this recruitment; a corresponding verified scheme is not established here. |
| Advt. No. 41/2024, Motor Vehicle Officer, Transport Department | Transport Department | 23 | Mechanical or Automobile Engineering bachelor’s degree, relevant workshop experience, specified driving licences, Hindi or Sanskrit, and computer knowledge. | Published scheme details describe screening, a Subject Knowledge Test, and interview; see the qualification below. |

Candidates also needed a driving licence authorizing motorcycles with gear and light motor vehicles, Hindi or Sanskrit through matriculation or higher education, and computer knowledge. The notice said admission to the recruitment process was provisional: document-based eligibility would be assessed after candidates qualified for interview, and the Commission’s decision on eligibility would be final.
Enforcement: Advt. No. 40/2024
A recruitment report describes the Enforcement requirement as graduation with 60% marks and Hindi or Sanskrit through matriculation or higher education. Because the original Advt. No. 40 notice is not independently established here, treat that summary as reported eligibility rather than a substitute for the official advertisement.
How many Transport posts were listed by category?
Advt. No. 41/2024 listed 23 posts in these categories. The notice cautioned that the post count could vary.
| Category | Posts listed |
|---|---|
| General/UR | 13 |
| SC of Haryana | 4 |
| BC-A of Haryana | 3 |
| BC-B of Haryana | 1 |
| EWS | 2 |
What were the reported age limit and application fees?
A report on the 2024 recruitment gave an age range of 18–42 years as of August 22, 2024, subject to relaxation for reserved categories. It reported a ₹1,000 fee for male unreserved/OBC applicants and male applicants from other states, and ₹250 for specified female and Haryana reserved-category groups. These are announcement-period figures, not current fees; category eligibility and fee rules should be checked in the relevant official advertisement.

What is the HPSC MVO result status?
The sources available for this article do not establish an official final result or selection status for both advertisements. A secondary exam-preparation page reports that a screening test was held on September 8, 2024, and an answer key was reported by May 16, 2025; neither item proves that a final result or selection list was issued. Check HPSC’s current notices for Advt. Nos. 40/2024 and 41/2024 rather than treating either recruitment as pending or complete without an official update.
Quick Recap
What should candidates do now?
- Search HPSC’s current notices by the relevant advertisement number: 40/2024 for Enforcement or 41/2024 for Transport.
- Use the corresponding notice to confirm any result, selection, revised vacancy count, or subsequent instruction.
- For a future technical test, use the official syllabus and scheme for the exact advertisement; general automobile engineering study material is not a substitute for either.
