Applications first opened on 7 August 2024 and were due by 27 August 2024. HPSC later reopened the portal for specified applicants and updates, but the available notices do not establish the recruitment’s current status as of 8 October 2026. Treat it as a historical recruitment unless a current HPSC notice confirms otherwise.

Application dates and later portal reopenings
The first application window ran from 7 August through 27 August 2024. That August 7 date refers to 2024, not a current application opening.
- 6–12 November 2024: HPSC reopened the portal after representations from candidates who had recently qualified UGC NET/JRF. The notice said earlier applicants generally did not need to apply again. It gave a correction or cancellation process for applicants with incomplete signed forms or erroneous details.
- 1–15 March 2025, until 5 p.m.: Corrigendum-II provided a further window for specified updates and fresh applications connected with Haryana’s SC sub-categorization notification. It also set out instructions on certificates and other category corrections.
The later windows had specific eligibility and correction conditions; they should not be read as general extensions for every applicant. The available notices do not establish whether HPSC has since completed selection or issued final appointment instructions. Anyone checking for an active step should consult the latest official HPSC notices.

Eligibility depended on the subject
For subjects other than Fine Arts and Mass Communication, the general qualification route in the original notice required a good academic record and a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks, or an equivalent grade, in the concerned, relevant or allied subject from an Indian university, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. The notice also required knowledge of Hindi/Sanskrit up to matriculation standard or in higher education.
The stated qualifying examination route included UGC NET, CSIR-NET or an accredited SLET/SET. The notice also described specified Ph.D. exemptions, with conditions including certification and research requirements. A Ph.D. alone should not be assumed to satisfy the exemption.
Rank #3
Fine Arts and Mass Communication
These subjects had separately worded qualification sections. Fine Arts allowed specified Fine Arts degrees and addressed equivalency for a recognized five-year diploma. Mass Communication had its own relevant Master’s degree provision; the notice listed Ph.D. and experience as desirable. Candidates needed to consult the exact subject advertisement and applicable corrigenda rather than apply the general subject rule automatically.
Age and category conditions
The original notice stated a standard age range of 21–42 and included a one-time age-relaxation provision for the 2024 calendar-year recruitment, along with additional category rules. Later reopening notices used their own relevant dates and qualification cutoffs. The applicable age, category and certificate requirements therefore depend on the particular notice and applicant circumstances.
Rank #4
Selection process and test weighting
The original notification described a three-hour subject knowledge test worth 150 marks. In the final merit calculation, the subject knowledge test carried 87.5% weight and the interview/viva-voce carried 12.5%. HPSC stated that the final merit list would be prepared by adding the marks from those weighted stages.
Screening tests were shortlisting stages, and skill tests were specified for Music, Physical Education and Fine Arts. The combination of stages varied by subject; HPSC’s exam-type announcement identified the subject-wise requirements. The notification said syllabi would be uploaded separately on HPSC’s website, and the exam-type announcement said test dates would be announced in due course at that time. Those statements do not establish the latest examination or result status.
